Instead of porting the Wii U version, why not just make a true sequel for the NX launch or shortly thereafter? It can't take THAT long to make a sequel to this game, and it's a hot new IP for gamers so why not capitalize on the momentum?

I'm okay with the idea of Nintendo doing some ports. But Splatoon is a really small game, they can just wait a bit and develop a sequel in almost no time.

Why would they port Splatoon? The game took a year to be made,heck the first time they showed it they only had 10% of the game done, they could easily make Spla2n within the NX year of the NX.
