Of Course they can to make bigger Smash game, but from reasons I mention we will not have new game in series couple of years, so it make sense to port Smash game that will be only two years old for new platform in meantime.

Wii U also will have lots of AAA exclusives that are not be ported to NX. Fact is that almost best PS3 exclusives are ported to PS4. If Zelda, Smash Bros, Splatoon and Mario Maker are about half of the decent games that Wii U got, we can say that Pikmin 1, Pikmin 2, Metroid 1, Metroid 2 and Zelda Twilight Princes are half of the decent games that GC got.

Again, how exactly Nintendo is screwing Wii U owners buy porting some Wii U games to completely new platform when Wii U will be dead in every way after NX comes on market!? How exactly port of some Wii U games to new platform after its released affect on me like Wii U owner!? Like I wrote, it same like you saying Sony screwed PS3 owners because they ported some exclusives to PS4, or Nintendo screwed GC owners because they ported some games to Wii...it doesnt make any sense.  

It's very logical that Nintendo will port some very popular games from failed system that only small number people played to completely new platform, they would port some games even Wii U didnt failed, Sony did that, PS3 is successful and they port lotsa exclusives to PS4.

Recent few Nintendo remasters showed that Nintendo start using external studios for ports/remasters, Zelda MM 3D is done buy Grezzo and Zelda TP HD is done buy Tantalus, there are good chances both already working on some ports/remasteres for NX.

We already have solid rumour that Smash Bros 4 port is doing Bandai Namco, only port that I am sure that will be done completely buy Nintendo is Zelda U, but that is basically new game not port of some old game.

Who even knows, NX may not have a "traditional" library in the sense that we think.

Perhaps one of the goals of NX is to make every notable/major Nintendo title from the NES days onwards playable, so a big chunk of the Wii U library may eventually be brought over ... things like Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3, NSMBU, etc. included so that Nintendo can sell them basically forever, ala STEAM.

Maybe Nintendo is planning to hav a Netflix/PSNow type service where you can get all their back catalog games and a certain portion of their current games for a subscription fee available on multitudes of devices. 

Etc. etc. etc. I'd be surprised honestly if NX is basically just a vanilla console plus vanilla handheld with some moderate software sharing and nothing else.

Eh maybe, not sure what that even means. To be honest I don't think the Wii U library is that bad *factoring in* that's it's basically one damn publisher supporting the entire platform. I prefer a lot of Nintendo's output on the Wii U over Wii truth be told.

The brilliance of the two Mario Galaxy games largely made the Wii for me, remove those two and the system is by far to me the worst Nintendo console.

I do kinda suspect that Nintendo is going to throw a *shit-ton* of big games at the system in year 1 ... basically everything and kitchen sink. 

They are not going to do their usual "lets start slow and gradually pick up the pace by second half of year 2" type thing ... I think they recoginize desperate times call for desperate measures (which is a good thing for us as consumers). 

I dunno, I'd still put it above the Gamecube personally thanks to games like Xenoblade, Metroid Prime 3, Donkey Kong Country Returns, and Skyward Sword.

Even I doubt that NX can have better library in one year than Wii U in 4 because at end of this year Wii U will have around 15 great exclusives so it's very hard that NX will have around 15 great games in single year, statement like this from Emily Rogers means that she thinks (based on her sources) that NX will have great library in 1st year.

I also preffer much more Nintendo's output on the Wii U over Wii.

The only way for this to happen is if Nintendo somehow manages to:

-Bring some of its best WiiU games to the WiiU, plus some remakes from the GC/Wii era.

-Make enough 1st party titles, including some of the biggest IPs from Nintendo (Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, Metroid...).

-Somehow not only get the regular multiplats to the NX, but also some of the best and better praised games out there.

If Nintendo somehow managed to pull this off (and I doubt it) they would end up completely out of steam for their second year. And they can't afford another WiiU-like droughts anymore.

Even if Nintendo could this I dont think they would release all that in single year, we than talking about 10-15 big Nintendo exclusives in single year plus some strong third party exclusives and multiplats.

Like I wrote, most likly Emily Rogers thinks (based on her sources) that NX will have great library in 1st year and much better than Wii U had, probably she is very exaited about some of those games she heard, and than she go little too far buy saying "The NX will build a better library in one year than Wii U built in four years".

But in any case, this is good thing. :)
