Forums - Gaming - Greatest Game of all time

It all depends on your age and overall gaming experience. I would say Tetris(GB) and SMB(NES).
Special mention to Chrono Trigger and legend of Zelda: ocarina of time.

I agree 100% with this it all depends on those two determening factors. For me even though I am not that old, I am still relavitvely young I still do love however going back adn playing games like Taz (Atari) and going with a bunch of the older games where as many people my age say "Those games suck, the graphics are terrible!" I belive that they are amazing because they created the gamer in me, and they are my origins to the gameing world. They are my loves in the gaming community.

Depends on the system. I give my own, personal oppinion, depending on how much fun i had, alone or with friends.
- pc: diablo2, lod
- snes: super mario kart
- n64: international superstar soccer
- ps1: ff7
- ps2: gta san andreas (“ohhh i know you knocked his bitch“)
- wii: new super mario bros wii
- ps3: demons souls
- xbox360: port royale 3
- ps4: bloodborne

And a final note: let's assume i am banned to a lonely island, only 1 system, 1 tv, 1 game and endless energy....

Give me demons souls and call me gilligan

I can't really answer.

I think Chrono Trigger is a obvious choice, but I also think Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World are very strong names too.

Some years ago now GameInformer did a list of the top 100 games of all time, listing the original Legend of Zelda at the GOAT for creating the framework for which most other games would follow, and I don't object. My personal favorites though would have to be Shadow of the Colossus, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and The Last of Us.

Mario Galaxy 2. Perfection in control, audio, and level design. There is more creativity in one galaxy than there is in many full games. One of the few games that is 100% fun all the way through.

I hope I'm wrong, But I still believe that no other game will ever surpass Ocarina of Time.

Honorable mentions to Skyrim for most impressive world, The Last of US for best story telling and
Halo: Combat Evolved for having some of the best epic moments in gaming.

:) we need a 3rd.

Personally, i don't think there is a best game ever, i believe we all have our personal list of the best Games of our lifetime!

PSN: Opticstrike90
Steam: opticstrike90

For me the best would be Golden Sun 2... but it hardly contributed something to the gaming world

Super Smash Bros. 4 should be considered by having a huge number of gaming mascots or characters from different publishers in a game that is actually fun. We've seen another games try it (Project X-Zone and Sony Playstation All Star - Battle Royale) but we never seen a AAA quality game or series like the Smash Bros that does it so well. Smash 4 sets a standard in collaborative effort in game design (Namco, Sora, Nintendo) and sharing gaming IP (Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, Namco, Square, Platinum, etc) and future collaborative efforts will be compared to this game.
