Makes more sense than Xbox, but it's still a risk considering how long a mainline FF game has been on their home consoles. It could go either way.

It should. But by the time it releases, NX won't even be out so why would I buy it again if I'm already getting it on PS4 when it releases? It just doesn't make sense. Square Enix's first big game that might hit NX on time is Dragon Quest XI. If Nintendo can capture that audience back on NX, it'll be a success.

I'm not quite seeing people being confident of this, and more thinking of people saying to not rule it out.  Markets are not 100% predictable.  

things don't get ported to things due to power or a lack of it there of. It all boils down to install base.

the publisher has to make a decision; "does the potential install base on this platform justify whatever it would cost me to release my game on it?"

And as of the time the NX is released, the answer to that question will be NO.

However, the NX is due out probably long after FF15 is released on PS4/XB1/PC..... so porting the game over may not be too much of an ask.

Yes, probably. Square already expressed their desire to bring Dragon Quest XI and Final Fantasy XIV to NX. There were also some rumors about both XV and VII coming to it. They added Cloud to Smash too...

At this point, I'm pretty sure the probability is really high.

That's my impression at least here on vgc. Not saying every nintendo fan is thinking it will be powerful, successful and get all third parties, but there's definitely a few of them, which are sadly pretty vocal about it

If the NX is powerful to handle it, then why not? Besides, a NX version would certainly help the game reach those 10m sales.
