No, they are diversifying the characters .... wonderful right ... it isn't just Females that can save the day in her universe ....

Unfortunately, that's not diversification. That's erasing your perfectly fine character because you aren't confident that a woman can carry the franchise forward, and instead, resort to the cliche male that you know will cater to the common denominator = more sales.

It was bad enough with Samus being extremely dependent on a white male in Other M, but at least we were still playing as Samus. But they went the extra mile know and remove Samus altogether. It shows their lack of confidence in diversified characters and rather go back to the patriarchal archetypes.

Well, it's good if your motivation is not the one I described above. But for the establishment it is.

Also, another point. The majority of people don't want diversity. It's only a tiny minority who is ultra aware of these issues and demand diversity for the sake of it.

I see what you tried to do, but it still is false.  You see, all timelines come from the Unified timeline, where Demise set a curse to cause the reincarnation of the hero (Link), Hylia, (Zelda), and himself (as Ganon).  So in theory, if we get a female Link, I want a prince Zed!  But that won't happen as they seem to reincarnate as their former selves, just without memory.

The problem with altering an existing character comes from the fact it is obvious they are only doing it for the press.  However a new IP can give much more depth to the character and that persons story, unbound by previous lore.  In fact, should they invest in said IP, it would show more support than just pissing off fans of a franchise by taking the cheap way out.  ;)

Ok like I said in WW he didn't change into is Pig form but he was still the same character, he literally was the same character he was in OoT and in TP if you don't see this you're just blind,and yes you're saying they're not good enough to have their own game if not then why are you supporting changing an establish character in an establish IP and not supporting the creation of a new one in a new IP,again the game would be the same and not change anything about it apart from Link having titts or that he/she/it used to be a male/female.So what if Link as always been a man,guess what Zelda has always been a woman and Mario and Luigi have also been white man, heck more than Link,since you know they actually are european,but people like you only ask for Link to be changed and why is that? again I have not problem with more women and LGBT characters in games but to change establish characters is just condescenting and stupid.

I don't understand why should an established character change sex, just to make a minority happy? By that logic Harry Potter should have become Harriet Potter, a transgender, by book 5 or 6.

This would only give homophobic and religious fanatics Zelda fans(hopefully a very tiny minority) a reason to whine. If they want to introduce a transgender character as part of a established franchise or make a new game all together, that would be totally ok, but changing a long established character like zelda is not; IMHO i don't even pay attention to my character's sex and too busy enjoy the gameplay for that.

It's not just to make a minority happy. It's to show you support diversity.

I think LInk should be black or asian, to change.

Then create new characters
