Well, yeah, Nintendo's attitude with this girl was really shameful. You're supposed to defend your employees, and she really hasn't done anything wrong. She was exposed to a really massive amount of harasement on TW, and the company did nothing. Well, fire her. That's genius.

Fuck GamerGate. That is terrible that they're destroying people's lives.

Of course Nintendo didn't say anything. What do you think would've happened if they did? Nintendo only stood to lose if they spoke up.

As for her... if she isn't responsible for any of the decisions regarding localisation then its profundly disturbing that she got laid off.

But something tells me she had a hand on it. Customers are clearly not happy with the censorship, but if someone else was responsible, they should be the ones laid off.

It's hard for them to defend her because of her views on pedophiles, she openly supported them and child pornography something that made things volatile. She was targeted by Gamergate mainly because of this not the censorship.

By the sounds of the article, it seems like she wasn't a bad person (and I generally dislike feminists, or at least the ones that get the most publicity). Too bad she got fired.
