You know I remember when From Software was known for making bad me-too games. (A little off topic)

On topic I don't believe anything until Nintendo says something, or it comes from a non-internet message board source that is slightly reliable. I just hit these up to see how disappointed some people are going to be when the thing gets revealed, since it never lives up to expectation.

NX is 2017. Nintendo wants to satisfy Wii U owners and launch the NX successful. That are their two goals and both can only be achieved with a 2017 or later launch.
