Rise TR is cleary advantaged by Christmas and BF. It is up 57%,, 30% 8,7% in those weeks.

By comparison other three games are all down in every week after the release. We would have a better picture with 20 weeks.

And people said RotTR was sent out to die given it launched in a window with so many big name titles. It also launched the same day Fallout 4.

SFIV didn't launch during the holiday and did better.

It was holiday bundled, so that shows some degree of faith that it was a needle mover.

I think the original idea was to compete with U4 long before it was delayed (U4 originally scheduled for a holiday '15 release) back when the console exclusive deal was signed.

It's hard to argue that Fallout 4 didn't take some launch window sales, but any game launching in Q4 should probably be taken within the context of entire quarter performance. There are a lot more choices from a consumer standpoint, but most consumers are buying a lot more games in Q4 as well.

What Street Fighter Game, did we had on the PS2, Gamecube, Xbox's era ?, i don't remember any, the Franchise was returning from a Hiatus,  because of that it did pretty well, with Street Fighter IV, but Street Fighter V, will be there for more 5 years or so.

Tomb Raider, Did nearly the same the last game did within the Xbox Console, However, Tomb Raider 2013, launched on March, a much weaker month for sales,  The Division, is a increndible exception of a game selling megatons without the Holidays, but this is rare.

Rise of Tomb Raider, launched on November, a much bigger month for sales, was more Heavy Marketed toward Xbox, and was Heavy Bundled, even so  it has struggle to make the same numbers the last game did, Remember the "Best Line Up of the Xbox History", Tomb Raider, was from the very beggining of the year, marketed as One of those games, this make it selling less or nearly the same than the previous game on Xbox, Something not really impressive

Alright, I dont want to argue why sales are the way they are. Its just a bunch of excuses and both had launch window concerns. People aren't even mentioning one platform has a massive userbase advantage.

The sales are what they are and this thread is interesting because expectations were different. Discussion is fine, some excuses are expected, but lets not complain about how this comparison is unfair. That only became an argument when SFV failed to meet high expectations.

This is not a excuse, you need to take everything into account, you are comparing Tomb Raider, that launched on March, with Rise of the Tomb Raider, that was marketed as a Exclusive, and launched on November, and had sales increase during the weeks.

And you also are comparing Street Fighter V, with IV, the Street Fighter IV, was launched after a long Hiatus of the franchise, Street Fighter V, was launched after Capcom, made 10 Versions of Street Fighter IV, and launched the game un-complete because of the Pro Tour.

Is a Fair comparison, but due to the circumstances, Tomb Raider have a Advandage, is a Single Player game, that Microsoft, brought the exclusivity when already was ready, but Street Fighter V, nearly made the same numbers as the last game (first week), they launched nearly the same day of February, and the series was not coming back from a Hiatus.

You Know that Street Fighter V, on PS4, will out-sell Tomb Raider 2015, on Xbox One, because the game will have 5 Years of Support, and you did only the 10 First Weeks, to compare the games and try to say that Tomb Raider, on Xbox One, had more Sucess than Street Fighter, on PS4, but don't forget Tomb Raider, was undoubtedly a High quality game, while Street Fighter, is undoubtedly a un-finished game, The Timing of the year, the Launch, is on favor of Tomb Raider, but only on the 10 first weeks.

If you compare 1 Full year of sales of both versions, so you would see the true picture, but i still think that Street Fighter V, will break Tomb Raider's numbers until the end of the 10 weeks, on  10 weeks, Tomb Raider, sold 1.008 Millions on Xbox One, and after the Holidays's End, and the Release of the PC Version, on  17-18 Weeks, only sold 1.100 Millions on Xbox One, on Total, this means that sold only 100 Thousands from January, to March, so Street Fighter V, sold in 2 Weeks, half of what Tomb Raider, sold on 18 Weeks, and you want to say that Tomb Raider, don't had a launch advantage ?

SFV sales are poor, I can't believe how fast they're falling each week, people said this game would have great legs including myself but I can't see it.

Again, excuses.

Meanwhile a few recent releases trounced all the games mentioned in the OP.

In UK Tomb Raider sold 38,000 first week on XB1. Street Figther did ~30,000 in some like 3 weeks... Then is death. Tomb Raider continued to chart very well.

In USA Street Fighter V sold 207,000 VS 201,000, so here the situation is a bit difference, but still, Tomb Raider sold the same during the second month, i think SFV will be lucky with 100K in March NPD...
