Forums - Nintendo - RUMOR: The European Version of Bravely Second has the bad endings removed, only the good endings remain

If true, this is far worse than the regular censorship they do on Nintendo platforms

Around the Network

Having played through some of the game and reading reviews I don't think that's true .

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

"In the Japanese version of the game, there are some sidequests that have branching paths, where the player is required to make a decision and pick one side or the other. One way leads to a "Bad" ending and the other leads to a "Good" ending. Evidently, this is not the case in the version that Europe just received; either path ultimately has the same "Good" ending, effectively removing the consequences of the player's choice. "

If true, this is incredibily stupid change.

This is a "Rumor", it isn't officially confirmed, so would be nice if you add "Rumor" in headline.

Stupidest thing I've ever heard if it's true. Why haven't reviews mentioned it though?

for multiple reasons for 1 they haven't played the japanese version and secondly a lot of games journalist are very pro-cenorship just look at anything Kotaku has written on the topic or this video IGN made.

If that's true that's dumb and stupid. I usually defend Nintendo in some censorship matters (like the ones in FE or in XCX), but this wouldn't be right at all. Let's take it with a pintch of salt, since I don't believe it's actually true.

And, another question I'd like to ask since I don't really know is: I know that Nintendo publishes Bravely Second on the West, but is it a Nintendo's decision or a SE decision? I'm not entirely sure about who has the rights to do so, and if the publisher can't tell a developer to fuck off and cut content.

If this is true, it's having a snowball effect as I said it might. On and on it rolls.

Ugh, my arachnophobia make this hard to write, but I'll do my best :P. I think it's best to wait for a trustful source and see what happened in the end. If this is the case, yeah, you're right and this is too much for anyone. I agreed with the latest censorship cases (FE:Fates and XCX) but I can't agree with something that butcher the player's decisions. That's why I don't really believe it. Also BD was localised by a SE hired team, so maybe it's not a Nintendo thing. Let's wait to know all the facts (if we ever managed to know all the facts xDD).

EDIT: It's bullshit even if it's not a Nintendo thing, obviously, but I think maybe we're jumping too fast on the conclusion that if this is true, it's Nintendo.

If it's true, whose fault is it SE, or Nintendo?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

See this why censorship is unexceptable. First they take out our titties and now story elements?
Its always only cencorship for people if its their taste which is getting hurt.
