Well, there are a lot of reasons to be missing it. If it's the best, is totally subjective, btw.

He said they dontnhave the resources to bring SSFIV to next gen, which people simply assumed (incorrectly) that it must also mean no money for SFV. He said SFV would be 2018 at the earliest given their resources. Clearly Sony money sped that up. But the game was coming either way. And i have seen people saying you get everything they release for your $60 investment.. thats not true. They have said there are premium things coming that require real money. I am thinking the premium content starts with cosmetic items and costumes, then later extends to new characters. |
Wrong, Ono said he didn't have the resources for ANY next-gen fighter:

Keyword(s): "Next-Gen for FG (Fighting Games)".
Even if they did, Phil Spencer already said they weren't gonna allow cross-play on the game like Capcom wanted, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what'll happen in said scenario. Same exact situation happened with Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, and guess what? It also went to the PS4 as a console exclusive... to the surprise of absolutely no one. Rejecting the dev's vision for the game is a damn good way to ensure it'll be exclusive to competitor consoles as they found out with FFXIV: Online.
Nice try, though.
EDIT: as for questionable launch decisions, how about Squeenix making the next-gen Hitman an episodic game? One of their biggest and most anticipated titles this gen, and they're making sure their fans only get to play part of it and have to wait a month to play more, rinse, repeat, in a non-tradable/refundable digital format, no less. And if you wanna wait to get the retail version (it gets worse)? It doesn't come out until late 2016 (or possibly even early 2017), conveniently right around the same time ROTTR finally hits PS4. So basically, disgruntled PS4 owners are gonna have a decision to make, nice going, SE!
Just thought I'd throw that out there.

I heard. Its pretty much dropped to the bottom of their top 10 chart at this point. Wondering how US sales faired...
Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Out-dated i mean that the Game would not be out on the Current Generation of the times of the release. Griding, is when you are Playing Online, you receive the Coin to purchase the Characters, so you think that Someone that purchased the game, will not play the Game ?, will play 1 time, and just throw away later ?, do you think that is Better to release a game that Everything can only be obtained with Real Money ?, Insteady of In-game Money ?, the Characters will take 2-3 Months per Character Release, so i think that Someone who purchased the game now, will have Enought In-game Money, to purchase any character when it became Avaliable. League of Legends, is a Hit, just because of In-game Purchase with Real Money, and with In-game Money, influence in the same way with both purchases, and the players can have a Fair battle, and not just put a Overpower Character Via Cash $$$$$$$$$$, and make the Battle unfair. |
Haha! Oh boy, it doesn't take that long to make a game. Especially when you take into consideration SFV feels like SFIV with tweaks.
Thanks for explaining microtransactions, I was so confused how that works. But you're missing the point. They put grinding in SFV so people would be encouraged to save time by buying in game currency. For costumes that's okay, but I don't want to grind for hours to unlock a character. Especially when you consider SFV launched with few characters.

FFXIV is an MMO, and it was already up and running when the X1 released. Creating and maintaining unique servers for a persistent world MMO on a single platform that will optimistically only amount to 15% of your now fragmented player base is a much less trivial thing than releasing a SFIV on Xbox One. Capcom would be absolute morons to cut out a significant portion of their player base for for such a stupid reason. I mean, I know they're stupid, but that stupid? Nah.
Also, there's nothing wrong with what SquEnix is doing with Hitman. Actually, what they're doing is exactly what Capcom SHOULD have done with SFIV. They're releasing each episode at a very reasonable price, with the full package coming for those who wish to play it traditionally. Hell, I'm not at all into Hitman, and I never buy games at full price, but even I'm considering trying out at least the first episode.
OT: I'm somewhat torn. Part of me wants Capcom to finally go under so that their assets*coughmegamancough* can be sold to companies that don't completely suck. On the other hand, SFV looks pretty good, and as a PC gamer I appreciate the cross platform MP. Of course, there's also the fact that if Capcom goes bust, a lot of people will be out of work...

| Fei-Hung said: I've completed character story modes, Survival on easy with all the characters and on Normal with one. I have about 245k banked so far. That's enough to unlock 2 new characters and a costume. Winning fights ranked or casual earns you 50 fight money. That means you got to grind to earn extra. However, with that you get 1000FM every time you level up, you get extra FM on daily challenges when they release and each new character can again earn tons extra FM through their story and survival modes. It's not too much of a grind and I prefer it to buying updates or being only given the option of paying for it. This new system allows me to buy a Base model, earn new free characters if I want to and pay for stuff I can't be bothered to grind for. |
I've got around the same amount of Fight Money, which only took me a couple of hours. It seems some of the people complaining about the "grind" aren't aware that the new modes coming in March will add other ways to earn Fight Money. Additionally, each new character that's added will likely have their own story and survival modes, so there are opportunities to earn fight money for the next character after buying each character. In the end, yes, while obtaining absolutely everything will require time, I think the people who are saying its going to be a tremendous grind are exaggerating.
Ultimately, I'm glad that Capcom is giving its audience the option of obtaining characters with in-game currency, regardless of how long it takes.

And for that very reason (DLC shenanigans) I have avoided all three Forza games this gen, even amazing ones like Horizon 2 and FM6. I passed on GT6, will pass on GT7 if they also commit to DLC shenanigans. League of Legends is a F2P game and doesn't warrant comparison to the other games you listed. People are not cool with F2P elements being introduced into retail games because they never end well. The very nature of their existence is to make it harder for gamers to unlock things naturally and entice them to spend real money instead. Not everyone is cool with that. It's better to have the option to pay to unlock the character? Eh.. I disagree. And shouldn't quality balancing ensure people have a "fair battle"? Not to mention, someone who plays the game will be better than someone who just pays to unlock stuff anyway. That's another reason the design of SFV makes no sense. It's not a FPS or strategy game where F2P elements can give you an advantage. They just want you to fork over some money. |
The thing isn't that "Its better to have the option to pay to unlock the character ?", is that we have the Choice to unlock everything with a Single purchase, and with in-game money, this means that you don't need to pay Crazy ammount of Real money on DLC, if you play the game, and soon enought the game will be at 40US$, if you finish the Story Mode of 10 Characters (that is pretty easy) you get the Money to buy 1 DLC Character, that will came Next month, and the other just 2 Months after it.
From putting a lot of Paid DLC, with Real Money Only, is worse than putting a DLC, with chances of you getting it for free, and the Single Player Money, that you get is pretty hight, you finish the game with 10 Characters, you finish the Survival Mode with 10 characters on the Normal Mode, and you already have 200 Thousands of fighting Money, enought to purchase 2 DLC, characters from the 6 that will come until 2017, and you still have 5 Months for the 3 Character to show up, and the game have 16 Characters at launch, so is not Pay to Win.
Halo, and Uncharted, have Microtransactions, that don't interfere on the Gaming Experience, this kind of thing if OK, in Both Halo, and Uncharted, you can get everything that affect the Gameplay with In-game Money, isn't like Destiny, that you have to pay for Everything.
on a Competitive game, if the player think that the game is Pay to Win, so they will just move to anything else.

Street Fighter V, launched with 16 Characters, nearly more characters than KIller Instinct, that have 18, and you will get 10 Thousands per Story Mode, and 10 Thousands per Survival mode on the Normal, this per Character, so is possible to get 320 Thousands points on the Same Day, that is enough to purchase 3 Characters, and you will need to wait 7 Months for the 4 Characters to show up, you get 1000 Every time you level up, i don't thing that in atleast 210 Days, you will not Get enought Money for another Character, the Griding is not so Hard.
