This is a very, very tough call, but ultimately I'm gonna go with Mario Bros 3. In spite of its worlds being separate instead of one big map like World, it somehow felt bigger and more epic. I found its level designs more memorable too. But blimey, the bar here is so high that its like picking your favourite sex position...

Its a tough call between Super Mario Bros. 3 & Super Mario World, though my love for the SNES gives SMW a slight edge.

I usually have myself asking that very question: World or 3? In terms of pure " WOW", smw is an easy choice. It is an almost perfect game in practically everything. But then I remember sm3 absolutely ridiculous nonsense and cheer fun and I end up choosing it, like I have just done.

Either Mario World or Mario U objectively speaking. Personally I haven't played Mario U so I have to say World for now. Hotel Mario is clearly a close third.
