ST and PH wasn't a problem to have SS ready to launch before the actual release date. It was the implementation of Motion Plus. And no, I will never prefer to have an spin off over a real core Zelda game that could have been done after the real game. If you don't have a problem, good, but some of us have and financially it is wrong to have an expensive project running so long and taking many resources.

Are you suggesting that the core Zelda titles haven't been worth the time and money spent on them? Really?

Because if you are, you have lost the right to have Link as your avatar.

No, it's not worth the time. Good games can be done in less time as they were doing in the past in less time. On top of that, the delays are absurd because there's an already long development cycle. 4 years is enough. TP was delayed 1 full year just because they wanted to release on Wii. Is that your value of worth? Even when the game was ready to be released in 2005? Just tell me why it was worth the wait for another full year when they only did for bussiness purposes.

And finally, explain to me how do I win with the delay of SS, a game that could have been released sooner, just because the motion plus implementation, when they could have released SS in 2010 and another one in 2012 reusing assets and implementing motion plus.

I'll sit here to see how do you try to explain to me. Go on.

The game was better for motionplus controls.

And my understanding is that SS wasn't delayed to implement motionplus, but rather, they considered dropping motionplus support in order to rush the game out. They delayed it because of motionplus, but not "to add motionplus".

Link. "During a recent interview, Aonuma-san revealed to us that after Skyward Sword had been in development for a couple of years with MotionPlus in mind, he started to wonder if this wasn't the direction he wanted to follow for the next big console Zelda title. For two or three months the game was then actually developed without the technology. Obviously, Aonuma-san eventually came around and brought MotionPlus back into the game, but not without a little help from Katsuya Eguchi, developer of Wii Sports Resort."

And what makes you think they'd have released one in 2012 reusing assets? They've really only ever done that once with console Zelda titles, in the form of Majora's Mask. Far more likely is that Nintendo would have spent the next couple of years making another handheld Zelda title, for release on 3DS (which only got its first Zelda title almost 3 years after launch).

If Aonuma had respect for the fanbase, we would have gotten more than 13 seconds of Zelda U footage in the last 14 months.

Then again, if he had respect for the fanbase, the game would be out by now.

Don't you think he's respecting us by trying to give us the best game he can...? o:

I'm not questioning its quality. I'm sure it will be a great game.

But 5 years between console entries is too long, and the fact that we've only gotten 13 seconds of footage in the last 14 months is just not enough. The game was supposed to be out by now and we don't even have a title, it's ridiculous.

Agree, IMO best respect for fan base is making one of the best Zelda games ever, not more footage or not delaying game (actualy not polished, broken or bad game would be worse unrespect for fanbase).

Though don't Zelda games take kind of long to make? I don't remember entirely, but isn't there quite a gap between main Zelda games..? Perhaps Aonuma is holding back more footage to only wait til it is near completion to excite us again on the title. I mean, that footage we got before was really great and got me hyped for their original release, so when they delayed it, it was a hard blow, at least for me. So yeah, it's probably about timing, at list it looks that way to me.

Either way, I'm not watching anymore Zelda. I want the next one to be as fresh as possible for me, haha.

Aonuma probably feels the same way.

No. Outside of Ocarina of Time and Skyward Sword, the other games were ready in a more reasonable cycle (2-3 years).

If that's the case, then I get corrected. Still, you have not explained to me the Twilight Princess situation, and Skyward Sword is not the game that takes 5 years to be developed. As much as I love that game, the fact that you needed 5 years and the help of Monolith Soft the develop the biggest and best are in the game tells much about how bad the development went.

And finally, yes. Why can't they do that when they have done in the past: Majora's Mask, Link's Awakening (it was done with the fundations of ALTTP) and ALBW is very similar to ALTTP. No reason to not go for a reasonable strategy like the one I posted. Do you want proof? There's people that are already dreaming that after Zelda HD coming "exclusively" to Wii U, they do a "Majora's Mask" reusing assets for an early NX title.

That's not quite true, there are some games where the time between releases are quite long, at last 4 years, that is if we don't count spin offs, handhelds, or majora's mask, haha.
