Interesting topic. Deserves its own thread.

If NX releases this year then I would consider it 8th gen. I think we also have to consider time as a factor when we determine when the next gen starts. If NX releases 2017 I think thats the crossover point but since there is not distinctive crossover line it's a little fuzzy if we should call it 9th gen. 2018 onwards is definitely 9th gen for me.

A generation doesn't end when a new one starts. The 7th gen is still going and the 360 is currently in 3rd and doesn't look like that will change.

The 6th gen ended 2012/13 because that's when the PS2 (the last 6th gen console) was officially discontinued. That is a fact!

By your logic I should of died when my baby boy was born!
