Forums - Nintendo - Sounds like Link will remain silent in Zelda Wii U

Good good. Otherwise Link would have sounded like Troy Baker or Nolan North.

Good. Doesn't need it, shouldn't be forced upon the franchise.

He doesn't have to speak, if he is characterized as silent type... the same goes for Gordon Freeman and other protagonists.

But the rest of the Hyrule population should speak.

Good, I think Link shouldn't speak. But the Hyrule's population should speak. It would be a step in the good direction.

Would you guys be alright with silent protagonist, but with chat options like Skyrim or XCX?

I'm saying this a good thing only because they don't have to spend even more time localizing the game.

Good.

Good, they can fuck off if they give him voice acting. Or if they ever let Samus speak again after that horribly failed experiment.

Samus spoke in Super Metroid as well.

Just a few lines of text about the events in the first two games. The actual storytelling is of visual nature.

So Pikachu, a character that never spoke anything besides "Pika" "Pika" "Pikachu!" has the right to have a voice, and even Nintendo fans have petitioned to have Danny De Vito to voice it in its new game, and Link cant also have voice?

Give me a break...

I would love to see Zelda get with the times and voice every character, Link included.
