Forums - Website Topics - Is this website actually SFW?

After reading through one of Ganoncrotch's posts, he pointed out that he didn't really think this forum was SFW anymore, and I've actually been thinking the same. There are far too many overtly sexualized avatars and signatures to call this forum that. And don't get me wrong, I don't care about those sigs and avatars personally, but when browsing this website during my breaks at school? Well, let's just say I'm glad I sit at the back of my classroom, because it really isn't SFW.

Here are some of the rules on this matter (copy pasted from the rules section):

Avatars. All Avatars must be safe for work. This means that they should not be overtly sexual (this includes blatantly sexualised poses)

Signatures. Like avatars, signatures must contain no graphic violence or sexual/NSFW content

Work-Safe Content. Some suggestive content is allowed, within limits, but it must be clearly marked before the image appears. Any content of this kind needs to go in NSFW Discussion, with no exceptions. If your topic contains any NSFW material, this should be clearly indicated in the title. We aren't trying to stop you from having fun, but people of all ages view this site, as well as people at work, so please keep your content appropriate and clearly marked. Pornographic or egregiously NSFW content (exposed genitalia, bared buttocks, and/or female nipple/areola) is never allowed anywhere on the site (including links to said content), and the posting of such content will be treated as a very serious offense. All judgments on work-safe content will be at the discretion of the moderator. Your avatar and signature must be work safe (see Rules 5 and 6).

Now, clearly the rules here aren't really the problem. I think the issue is that no one, regular users nor mods seem to actually care about these rules. The only rule that people seem to care about is this part:

Pornographic or egregiously NSFW content (exposed genitalia, bared buttocks, and/or female nipple/areola) is never allowed anywhere on the site (including links to said content)

Am I alone in thinking this or?

Well I'm sure Wright will find your sig....nvm

;o! l0l

And I don't go around asking him to remove it!

Looks at avy and user above me...

Good thing I disabled sigs from this site, some of the stuff with boobs and anime were getting far too annoying. Plus it loads much faster anyway.

My excuse as a moderator is that I have sigs disabled.

However, if you do see things you think overstep the mark please do report them. We do our best to remove NSFW content, but obviously things get through the net from time to time.

Not that it's NSFW, it's NSFH as well - my wife often peeks over my shoulder to see who are those scantily dressed lasses in avatars, and then when she realizes it's "that site again", she just shakes her head.

Totally agree with the OP's post. It's quite embarrassing viewing the website at work... some signatures are just not appropriate for work related viewing.

Its probably why many gaming sites comments don't allow signatures etc.

It's a gaming forum. By it's very definition it's not safe for work. If you're at work you shouldn't be looking at non-work related sites period.

I'm pretty sure you have breaks at work as well.

There should be an option to manually ignore user's avatar and sig along with blocking all avatars. We at least have the option to block all signatures so that's a good start.

Edit: Whoa when did we get precise time stamps? :-O Nice!

You've never had a office job with an area to yourself I assume ;)

You can find it under Settings -> Preferences -> Hide Sigs in Forums.

I know I meant having the option already implemented was a good start. I'll edit it to clarify it though.

Edit: My brain farted. I meant precise time stamp but typed out price time stamp lol
