We should. We should also see a hardcore F-Zero as well, but we won't.

Didn't Nintendo ask Criterion to make a F-Zero game for the WiiU's launch? I wouldn't be surprised to see a F-Zero game get announced in the following 5 years, specially with all the references in Mario Kart 8!

No, not at all. Unless they were lying, Nintendo confirmed that there was no Metroid game in development at this past E3 event.. Even if they started development on one out of desperation late into the year, they're not going to talk about it in 2016. Unlike much of the industry today, Nintendo usually doesn't talk about games that have more than a year of development left. In fact, the only reason we heard about a lot of this year's releases in 2013 was because Nintendo expected those games to be finished sooner than they were, but they weren't because of Nintendo's workload of developing for 3DS and Wii U and because Nintendo's own developers were still getting adjusted to HD development.

If they started development on a Metroid game this year, I wouldn't expect to hear about it until 2017 and it will most likely get a 2018 release.

Your issue is that you only seem willing to accept information that agrees with your own predetermined agenda. Any time anything contradicts your overly optimistic worldview, you just flat out refuse to accept it.

I accepting only information that have same evidence and make sense. Yes, I have optimistic view but I always trying to make objective predictions, while you have pessimistic view, but definitely you can't say that I "referring to refuse to engage with reality and wildly optimistic projection" because that isn't true. While on other hand if it's something positive and good you still have doubts, even its clear like day, referring to Zelda U for Wii U.

And if Zelda still comes to Wii U, I'll gladly admit I was wrong and overly pessimistic. I have no problem doing so.

Will you similarly admit you were overly optimistic if Metroid isn't at E3, if Starfox can be finished in movie length time, or if Zelda U does fall short of Twilight Princess numbers?

I have maybe positive view but in same time very possible views, no one my view is not unrealistic.

Saying that I would be very suprise if Star Fox Zero has just "length of movie" (I need to mention I am not referring to main campaign only, I referring to other content too), so that I would admit offcourse. I didn't said Zelda U will have exatly same TP numbers but similar, I expecting 6-7m, and I would very surprised if would sold less than 5m if come on NX too, so that I would admit of course. Of Course I will admit that I was wrong if we don't see announcement of Metroid Prime at E3 (also see poll in this thread, I am not only one), same like I admit for E3 2014 and 2015.

I sure hope so. I had the first F-Zero back when it launched and recently bought the game again from a used game shop and it's tragic that Nintendo has ignored such a great racing game.

All that make sense, but next year will be 30th anniversary of Metroid, I think Nintendo will want to mark that anniversary with announcement of new Metroid Prime game, maybe just a little short trailer or in worst case just art work.

The only thing Nintendo has to do is to buy/hire Shin'en and to give them a bunch of cash...

I'm gonna say Metroid will be ignored. Minus an apology video for Fed Force. With a 30th anniversary logo slaped on, to get tears flowing. That just says "buy our game pls". I don't have any hope in a new game being announced. If a game is being worked on. It's in no shape to show it now.
