How are y'all excited for Rogue One?

Recently watched it: Finn and Poe were great, we don't get enough Poe. Rey is overpowered and the plot is sorta lame.

Shortly after watching this movie, I watched The Nostalgia Critic review. Pretty funny!

Lol @ all the people who believe TFA is worse than the prequels.
Time has made you blind. The irony is that most of you ,if not all, will still go to see the next SW movie, because of all those reasons you don't want to admit. Because, in 10 years time, when you're having a boring Sunday afternoon and you feel like watching some good Star Wars entertainment, chances are you will pop that TFA blu-ray instead of any of the prequels.
Then you will say to yourselves 'Damn, If only Mordred11 was here to cosplay as bikini slave Leia, my Sunday would be complete.'

Disagree with the first part, but 150% agree with the last part :P

Can't speak for anybody else but whenever I watch one, I watch them all and I always start at the beginning with Episode I. It's not "a boring Sunday afternoon", it's a week long commitment. I love all 7--even the bad ones. Unfortunately Episode 7 (which I already have a blurry copy of) isn't really that good or that bad. It just " is ".

Now how about some bikini pics!

7/10 it doesn't suck but its not the 93% rotten tomato for me.

I really thought I was alone on this, but yeah, that's me as well... it wasn't huge, but not the bomb I expected...

Don't worry your not alone I was with a group of friends. 1 hated it the more he thought of it, the star wars fans really loved it I had the make sure one was breathing cause the movie was taking his breath away lol. And one just enjoyed watching a movie with friends lol. And for me it was good not great but good.a

Finally got around to seeing it today.

It had some problems...but I enjoyed it for the most part. It felt a lot more like the original trilogy, which appealed to me more, as the prequels felt pretty generic to me. The less CGI the better.

I liked most of the new characters, particularly Finn and Poe. I realized pretty early that Rey was going to be a complete Mary Sue...which kinda makes me worried for the next two movies. I really don't care for perfect characters who never screw up and get power-ups for no reason...so I really hope there is more to her character than what we've seen so far.

I suppose her character is my only big gripe, which isn't big enough to keep me from watching the next movie, and probably not enough to make me post about it anywhere other than this one post on a gaming forum.

So basically she is just like Anakin and Luke. 9 year old Anakin hops in a Naboo Fighter for his first time and takes out the Droid Control Station. Luke hops in an X-Wing with no experience and shoots an unguided shot into a small exhaust port at high speed with his eyes closed. The lead characters in Star Wars are always Mary Sues.

Then it was the armor.

My point is, Ren was not 100% when he fought Rey/Finn. It is not unusual for him to lose that fight after being hit by the unholy son of a crossbow and a blaster. In fact is miracle that he could stand at all.

The movie did not make that clear at all, at the moment of impact.

And the 3 (or 4 forgot the exact number) of other scenes that show how that bowcaster explodes stromtroopers and send them flying did nothing to hint you that this weapon was deadly as fck ? They were so insistent in showing the power of that thing it anoyed me a little bit, at one point I remember thinking "man JJ Abrahms realy likes this bowcaster, he is making a very clear point of telling us its way more effective than a normal blaster". If that didnt work maybe Han saying "I realy like this thing" after killing 3 stormtroopers with 1 shot should have done the job. If none of those worked for you than you needed a narrator explaining everything that is going on screen.

Im not even 1 bit excited neither for rogue One nor for the Han Solo movie. I feel like its rather pointless to tell me how the Rebels got the Death Star plans, I dont realy care tbh. None of the characters in that movie will realy matter, they are all already dead or faded into oblivion and I feel like this wil lack a lot of Star Warness in it and will play more like a war movie.

The han Solo movie I believe will be even more pointless story, how does knowing what Han Solo used to do when he was young helps moving the lore and/or the universe foward.

Shes less impossible than they are actualy cause she actualy had training, the Force is enhancing her already honed skills, Luke had 0 experience flying an X-wing and Anakin was 9, Rey was already a pilot. The 1 problem (and what I think sent most ppl who complain over the edge) is the Mind Trick. They need to explain that one better, I believe that she has had previous jedi training or at least have contact with jedi lore before so she knew that could work. If she just randonly tried a mind trick without knowing it was possible to mind controll ppl beforehand is a bit forced.

The movie was OK, mainly because it completely copy the first Star Wars storywise and with all the cool stuffs (millenium falcon, Startroppers and all....):

The weakest part of the movie are the new characters:

The first trilogy immediately created characters that become fan favourites: Luke, Han Solo, Leia, Obiwan, Vador, Yoda, Jabba.

Here if we take a look at the new characters:

Rey: They tried to make a mix of Leia, Luke and Han Solo in one single character. It can't work. She is too much at the same time and not enough herself. She has little depth as a main character. They will probably try to sold it as the daughter of Luke or another stupidity.

Fynn: A completely new original character but also completely useless and uninteresting. His personnality is bland and uninteresting and he hasn't a single interesting ability.

Kylo Ren: The Vador of the hobo.... Vador was impressive, calm, frightening and an image of power emanated from him. His personal plot was also the heart of Star Wars.

Kylo Ren is a baby faced teennager, a cry baby failing everything, getting outpowered by Rey in both mind games and lightsaber fight. He is also acting like a child destroying everything in rage.

He is weak, physically unimpressive and is more a clow than a threat. I can't believe they killed Han for this character.

Snoke: Do I have to elaborate? He just looks ugly and disproportionnate.

The story was mainly good because it copied the first Star Wars. Han Solo was the best character, now that he is dead, what will happen? Will they kill Luke too? The new characters are so underwhelming....

I rank this movie as the 6th overall, with only the phantom menace below.

More than VIII at this point.

Seemed more like a transition film, a passing of the torch to the new characters.
