I'll wait for potential sale in the future - Rogue Galaxy is top of my wishlist for PS4 PSN - PS2 classics.


And someone (*cough* you*cough*) told me it would most likely be locked behind PS Now

 

For the record, I think disc based BC seemed pretty unlikely for the get go. The PS3 got some PS2 Classics, they didn't unlock if you had the PS2 disc afaik.

Yeah I was wrong about that part and I'm glad I was wrong because now I can actually buy the games I missed during the PS2 era like Dark Cloud and Rogue Galaxy without worrying about streaming/online connection and/or a time limit/subscription.


I'm also glad you were wrong but (and I say this with no ill intention ) I never thought you were right anyway

Like all games new to any store they will be priced a bit high, and like most games they will come down in price.

Surprised they didn't stick these on PSNow, they could do both.

I know lots will complain about the price, but I know many that will be happy that they can revisit some of these gems, especially if they are upscaled, can be shareplayed and have trophy support.

Nope. And the way they're going to justify it is be saying they're remastered and have trouphies. Ridiculous.

If you bought gta 5 or metro 2033 on ps3 you didn't get it for free on ps4. 

 

If you bought crash bandicoot or spyro on ps1 you didn't get it free on ps3.

 

If you bought Crash Bandicoot or Spyro on PS1, you got to play it for free on PS2 AND launch PS3s. If you bought Halo 2 on Xbox, you got to play it on Xbox 360 for free. If you bought Gears of War on Xbox 360, you now get to play it for free on your Xbox One. 

There's no excuse... stop making them.

At bolded, acually all PS3 models could play PS1 games, not only launch PS3s. Only launch PS3s could play PS2 games though.

LOL, oh Sony. Some cool games for gaming newbies here - I hope more people get to appreciate hacking through dudes in Mark of Kri with the greataxe - but not for me. Maybe when the PS Now-esque prices get nuked I'll reconsider for Dark Cloud. (Parappa 2? C'mon guys, the PS1 games were both way better...)

Well, it is certainly good they have PS2 games on the PS4 now. Do they have the ones from PS3 on it yet? There were some good ones on the PS3 one as well.

Also, are the prices really that bad? Doesn't seem so bad to me.

lol, too expensive? Apparently people forget that these games were $60 new.

"You mean I have to pay a fourth of the original price instead of a sixth? WHAT A RIP-OFF".

For what it's worth, I believe that the extra time to add trophies and upscale are why you're paying 1/4 instead of 1/6.

THey are a bit expensive, I would have liked 9.99 (booker T voice) universally. However gonna by Dark Cloud tomorrow!
