Hi all,

I'm primarily interested in the best machine for me for multiplats releasing 2016 and later. Specifically FFXV and the FF7 remake for now. I do have a PC that's been able to limp along for some recent multiplats (though I did have to pass on a few 2015 PC releases), but I'd rather not spend the time, money, and effort to set up a new future-proof gaming rig.  Changing the video card could help, but for this laptop of mine it doesn't seem a realistic option.

The PS4 and X1 have me concerned. In terms of raw specs (CPU, memory), they're actually barely ahead of my PC. Many games on PS4/X1 are still sub 1080p, below 60fps or even fail to hit 30 fps consistently as in Just Cause 3 or Fallout 4. Not sure if publishers are thinking this acceptable practice long-term (to me, it's not) or if they'd even push Sony and Microsoft go for PS5 or X2 sooner than anyone seems to expect now and resume the historically standard 5-6 year lifecycle for consoles -- especially if they're any bit serious about competing with the NX for having a more powerful console. Kind of kills the purpose of buying PS4/X1 if they're becoming irrelevant 2-3 years from now, right? But that's still speculation of mine... My mind says PS4 has the staying power I'd desire, but more of my friends are on the X1. And my heart says, NX will be ready to go out and totally kill it and be the right option that hits all my tastes.

I really don't honestly have much interest in either Sony or Microsoft's 1st party offerings. They're not bad, they just don't appeal to me that much.

Between my PC and WiiU (plus 3DS and my 360 I guess), I do feel like I still have a lot to enjoy. PS4 and X1 look okay now, but it already just seems as if NX will have a lot more to offer once it launches. Better multiplat performance. Portability. And the Nintendo 1st party games I already know I love.

Too Many J-rpgs Upcoming for Ps4 next year ( Persona 5, Star Ocean 5, etc ), Buy a Ps4 on my opinion ( Battlefront Bundle or Nathan Drake Collection Bundle ) and for sure waiting for announcement titles for the NX for Buy :D

Because Nintendo is delivering great games regardless if it's their best selling or worst selling console!?

I will get the NX when the Pokemon NX is announced. I always preffer handheld over HC, but that's a matter of tastes, I suppose. With that said, the PS4 is hoarding RPGs like no other console is going to do in this gen. If Nintendo is lucky, they'll get 1/3 or 1/5 of those games (thanks to the japanese handheld market) but we still don't now what the system even is. The only reason I'm not getting a PS4 is because having online multiplayer under a PS+ paywall is a gamebreaker for me. I don't even play that much online anyway, it's just out of principle.

It sounds like your trying to get the best experience on multi-platform titles yet it's counter intuitive that you refuse to invest on PC components ...

Go get yourself a PS4 if that's the case since it's probably the next best thing ...

There's no guarantee that the NX will get FF XV or FF VIIR ...

If multiplatform games are important, you really can't put any faith in Nintendo. If the NX has decent multiplatform performance its likely to be in spite of Nintendo's efforts rather than because of.

When I read this I was like why the hell would anyone wait on the NX after the WiiU.

I bought a WiiU in DEC 2012. Stupid decision. I barely played it. Even now I only break it out a few times a year when a major game comes out for it. I reasoned that I defitily would get 3D Mario and Zelda, and that would come out for it RIGHT? No 3D Mario. And it appears I probably would not need a WiiU to play Zelda. 

Will I get an NX someday? I hope so. But I will wait until it has a library that justifies the console purchase. I will not purchase a Nintendo console in good faith again (like I did with the WiiU). Once the NX has a Zelda game, Mario Kart, Smash, Fire Emblem, and 3D Mario I will buy it. 

Wait and see is my suggestion. Had a PS4 and whoop was my assessment, also all the JRPG's i'm interested in all release on PS3 as well, no need to buy a PS4. Yes, it's a weak piece of hardware, but remember consoles can no longer be as powerful as PC, tech is too expensive.
