Forums - Nintendo - Full List of Nintendo developed retail games announced in 2015. Conclusion? Nintendo is done with 8th gen.

Is Nintendo finished with 3DS and Wii U after 2016?

Heck yeah!!! 182 71.37%

Naw mawn... 73 28.63%

Total:255

I'm thinking Pikmin 4 is for the NX too.

There was absolutely no reason not to show it in the recent Nintendo Direct as other 2016 Wii U titles were shown.

Maaaaaaybe they'll release a Wii U version too, but I think it's going to be on NX too (like the next Zelda).

In fairness, they do tend to keep many games bottled up until a few months before launch, and Iwata dying DID send them into radio silence for most of the year. It's not out of the realm of possibility that with the company scrambling to get back on their feet from that, some games got pushed off. I mean that happened to Star Fox after all.

Not that I'm saying this is the case, but there's definitely some fair reasoning to be made. I've been of the belief since launch that they'd have knew big cycle of development and be done with it, simply because they struggled to catch up to bloated HD development until the past year or so and because the Wii U was always gonna be a five year plug.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Looks like you need to read the OP.

Also my memory was off, I was thinking he died before E3 for some reason but it was actually after, meaning it had no effect on Nintendo's gameplan, which was already to focus on NX by that point.

I did read the OP like most people do to try to make themselves look right you paint a very broad scope in it. By not comparing the game releases from earlier years shows you're not thinking about it logically.

The support has been the same over the last 2 years once again problem is lack of third party to take care of gaps NX isn't even close to coming out next year

lol alright let's compare Wii U announcments.

2015 = amiibo Festival and Ultra Smash

2014 = Captain Toad, Mario Party 10, Splatoon, Kirby, Mario Maker, Zelda (I know it was announced earlier, but forgot when)

2013 =  Xenoblade X, Tropical Freeze, Woolly World, WWHD, etc.

2012 = Smash, Kart, 3D Mario, Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land, NSMBU, etc.

No contest!

Besides having some spotlights this year, like Splatoon, Mario Maker and Yoshi, Nintendo's line up has been much weaker than usual in general. 2016 looks slightly better than 2015, but yeah... they're probably preparing their major titles for NX and are just carrying their systems until it's time to release the new system.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

It is the most reasonable thing to do, not like Sega, who carelessly released the Sega CD in 1992, 32X in 1994, Saturn in 1995, and then Dreamcast in 1998.

That's why I worry so much about Nintendo releasing the NX before 2017/18.

Absolutely. This was probably the main reason why sega had so many problems. But I wouldn't worry about Nintendo releasing the NX at the end of 2016 or at 2017. I think most people will be satisfied by then (and tired too) since both 3DS and Wii U are extremely outdated (specially the 3DS) and already got their main games and support for 4/5 years (by then, of course). Maybe the system to launch next year will be the handheld-thing too... we don't know much yet.

Man... don't you guys realize that you aretalking bullshit?
If Nintendo doesn't want to launch another flop, then a fusion system is the dumbest thing that could happen.
I'm out. I don't want to keep discussing with who don't have an economic sense.

And if the Wii U is getting replaced in 2016 (which obviously won't happen) then I'm done with Nintendo products. But as we know that won't happen, because Nintendo is a smart company.

Neither Zelda nor Pikmin are NX games. Face it.

XCX
Star Fox
TP HD
Zelda U
Pokken

I'm good on Wii U for the time being

and to reggin: i can say I'm happy with Wii U because I've enjoyed the library of games I have for it and looking forward to the last few releases were getting in 2015(xcx) and then the others announced for 2016 ;D

PIkmin 4?

No official announcement and for all we know, it might be an NX game.

It'd be a good launch title.

It would be a terrible launch game. No one buys a console for Pikmin.
