So how is 275-325 million in 'game sales' a massive flop on a "dead" console.

Okay, no offense but there's no way in hell Halo 5 sold upwards of 5 million first week.

Yes but... how many units sold?

Is it so hard to just say "Congrats" these days? ; )

It's as clear as trying to read the fine lines in the article lol

Lots of bitter sony fans as expected lol.

Leaving VGC because of the down-players? No one would've never joined if that was the case. This place has been the same since I stumbled across it forever ago. People come and go, it's just how things go. Some find it easier to leave when their fave system isn't doing so well though

If MS is having to spin data about halo then it didn't sell as well as they hoped for.

According a lot of people on this site it's a flop. LOL

I doubt anyone thought it was a flopped.  What they were saying is that it underperformed compare to other's mainline halo but it was obvious it is still going to sell millions.

Ethomaz even in this thread:

Halo 5 did flopped big now after these PR.

Even more than we expected.

400 million in revenue is a lot, even if it is a lot of bundles/or controllers/micro transactions, it shows that people spend a lot of money for Halo.

It's funny how people care mainly about units sold... like retail units are the only way a game can earn money... if a game sells console bundles that are more expensive than the regular console bundle then you need to congrats this game not the other way around. If a game makes you buy high priced controllers, special editions, attract new online payers etc etc then I'm sorry but you can't solely judge the success of said game only by it's units sold.

I mean the fact that you had to pick ethomaz as an example. The guy is constantly banned for running around the forums with his anti-MS agenda.

There are a lot of valid points raised in this thread alone, Halo 5 is a massive success. But we are used to talking about a single metric here on vgc, how many units has Halo 5 sold? Is it really that annoying for you when people bring up the fact that Halo 5 will probably sell less than any other mainline Halo game?

GT6 has been dragged to hell and back because of the same exact reason.

That release is worded for investors. Like it or not they really don't give a crap what an internet gaming forum thinks. BUT, no matter how you try and spin it those are bloody impressive numbers. even if you do something like make 200m of that consoles, that means 400,000 consoles at $500 a piece and still leaves 200m to provide around 3 million copies sold. you can transfer some back and forth between those two but no matter what you end up with a bloody outstanding number for either hardware or software and most likely both.
