Their estimations went up to exactly what I expected xP

And to people saying "PS2 like numbers", it's actually beating it by a lot.

If this thing have legs like the PS2 did... dammit.

not really.  PS2's first 9 months was Japan only.  I'm not gonna figure it out right now but the number are probably close if you align everything.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Wow if it can keep this up or surpass it with more price cuts over the years, it'll be at 70! Million or more in two years. That means it'll have very nearly matched the PS3 sales in half the time. If Sony can get the ps4 price down to the $149-199 point in a few years, we should definitely see it sale around 110-120 million if not more lifetime.

Congrats Sony. Now don't get cocky again and mess up the ps5 launch in a few years :)

That's the good thing about the architecture of the PS4,  we should actually be able to see a drop to $149 some time after the PS5 arrives.  Maybe even $99, like they were able to do with the PS2.  But, because of the expensive architecture of the PS3, we might never see an official drop to even $179.

@ OP

Kaz really righted that ship.  It does suck they don't reveal PS3 numbers, though.  My guess is it will crawl its way to 90M if Sony keeps on shelves long enough.

Unless I'm reading this wrong

Sony Games Division: (2015)
Sales: $649 million
Operating Income: $43 million

Nintendo: (2015)
Sales: $946 million
Operating Income: $65 million

Good job Sony for abandoning Mobile. Hopefully they invest in the smart way, rather then joining the competition late.

Pictures was really bad, but maybe it was for the best to not compete with a record Universal this year.

PS4 is also up 15% yoy without a pricecut. What will the pricecut do for the holidays?

6.4 up 15% is 7.36m. Surely more?

Amazing numbers.

Man MS really fucked up. Serves them right.

Yeah, way to fuck it up, outselling Xbox360 :). OT: Fantastic news, good to see PS4 keeping pace and this holiday will also be huge.

For now.

Shipments during FY2014 Q1 and Q2 combined were 6 million, FY2015 Q1 and Q2 are 7 million combined. Up 16.67%. Sony is expecting PS4 shipments to be up by 18.24% at the end of the Financial Year from 14.8million to 17.5million.

They expect 10.5m which is only 16% more then last year at 8.8m. Surely the PS4 would sell more with a pricecut, when  all year its been up 15% without a pricecut.

Really good numbers.

When you consider the cheaper models available and the software theyre gonna be putting out through next Year, I wouldnt at all be surprised to see it be up YoY in 2016 too.
