I'm sure Spencer is having a Singstar party with Nadella right this moment!

4 hours since update:

#15 PS4 TLOUR Bundle (same)*
#16 PS4 Star Wars Bundle (down 4)
#24 PS4 Nathan Drake Bundle (same)*
#34 PS4 Destiny Bundle (up 6)*

#35 XB1 Halo Bundle (up 6)
#45 PS4 Black Ops Bundle (down 8)
#68 PS4 Star Wars Standard Bundle (down 12)
#93 XB1 Gears Bundle (down 7)
#95 XB1 Forza Bundle (down 1)

PS4 - 6
XB1 - 3

* Note that the 3 bundles that DO effect this month are still above the Halo bundle. Also note that only having 1 bundle above the XB1 has been enough to give the PS4 a win in NPD. If it stays like this until the 27th and is close for the remainder of the month, the PS4 will win October by quite a margin.

We still have to take into account that halo bundle has been up for pre order since August.

Perhaps, but it never really charted high anyways, so we might be looking a small bonus anyways, while the x1 is getting beaten now 3:1. so its safe to say that wont matter.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Uncharted bundle into the monthly chart now at #81.

Halo 5 bundle was #24 for the month of August when pre orders went live, however in September it failed to make the top 100 for the monthly. And now only recently it's started to do ok, plus taking into account what abdiel said yesterday on gaf, pre orders aren't that impressive when compared to Destiny 2014 ps4 bundle.

With halo 5 being the only decent charting Xbox sku this month while the others are barely hanging on in the 80s and 90s, I think it's safe to say PS4 will take the month. Or at least be a close 10k-20k. And let's be honest, a small gap like that in halo 5 month would still be viewed as a loss considering, well it's halo.

Edit: just checked out the monthly and ps4 has three skus ahead of halo 5, two count towards this month, while halo is a distant #44.

Monthly positions for XB1 Halo 5 Bundle preorders

October (So far) #44
September Not in top 100
August #24 (Best selling X1 SKU by 16 places)

Hasn't done too badly around 100k preorders so far?

Edit: Ultimate beat me to it. This is what happens when you leave the edit open for ages.

Will this be the last thread if amazon fails to correctly predict the winner? I mean who wants to listen to a false prophet.

With a 100% record for two years, I don't give a damn if Amazon is wrong occasionally, I'm still going to invest in what it tells us. If a tipster kept telling you which horse to bet on and he was right 24 times but was wrong the 25th time, would you seriously not take his advice anymore? Of course you's take his advice again.

I hope you are aware of the fact that Amazon didn't correctly predict the winner on december 2013.

You're wrong.

Amazon correctly predicted the NPD winner on December 2013 which was the Xbox One, on the Amazon Best Sellers Chart the XOne was 4th while the PS4 was 8th.

I can't remember but were preorders involved? You have to take those into consideration when assessing the accuracy of Amazon. For instance, this months numbers won't include the Star Wars Bundle or the Black Ops Bundle, but there are still the TLOUR Bundle, Destiny Bundle and Nathan Drake Bundle which have been consistantly above the Halo bundle.

The 3DS won december 2013 NPD

You could argue that PS4 shortages at Amazon kept PS4 down, and that finishing with 4 places of each other makes the Amazon chart too close to call with Xb one vs PS4. Still what is interesting is that far from Amazon just randomly being wrong it is fairly predictable when Amazon is likely to be wrong, which actually strengthen's Amazon's predictive value rather than weakening. When you know the factors that are likely to put Amazon out you will be able to know how to interpret the Amazon monthly chart.
