I didn't even read the thread, I'm kinda bored of this Spencer-centric threads, I just wanna say:
Is there REALLY someone that enjoys console wars currently ?

Probably not.

Microsoft was loving last gen trumpeting every npd win, various video comparisons showing ps3 version performing much worse with lower resolution, lowered frames, screen tearing, etc.


Now that Sony's back on top and learned their lesson, "I hate the console war".

Right.

 

It seems last gen left some serious wounds. Perhaps that explains a lot in discussions.

It sems like this gen is doing the same to some others.

I'm saying he had no say in what MS did. He didn't decide anything. Wasnt even associated with 3rd party deals

All this from the guy that announced Tomb Raider as an exclusive, and did the best he could to make the audience believe it was a true exclusive and not a timed exclusive.

I bet if the xbox one would be nr1 instead of the ps4 his view would be different

Maybe they're saying that because during the 360 gen, they seemed to love the console war. I remember the forums were packed with stories from Microsoft execs trumpeting every npd win and every screen/video comparison of inferior ps3 multiplat versions. 

 

So ya, to hear this just sounds ridiculous and childish considering their attitude last gen. But no company is perfect, I remember some bad ones from Sony back in the day, but not quite to the extent Microsoft was doing during the 360 years. That's my take on the situation anyway.

I dunno. I prefer Sony to MS on the console front, but I think Phil is mostly a good guy. He's right, the console war folks are incredibly toxic. We can ban people here, but just look at most of the internet, it's troll city. Youtube in particular.
