Maybe thats why they are worth way more than Sony and Nintendo combined...?
These dudes are not doctors and are not bound by ethics. I like Phil for the most part but all sides tend to say some pretty cringe-worthy statements at times(usually the losers of the generation). Nintendo seems to take the cake this generation..... Although Microsoft's "X1 was the best selling console in the US during E3 week" was pretty noteworthy :P

This is a bit of a double whammy. Not only could it encourage thousands not to purchase a PS4 for weeks, but it puts the pressure on Sony to do a price cut or risk losing sales completely from those that were told waiting was worth it who end up disappointed when Sony doesn't follow through. Basically, whether Sony wants to or not, this is putting the squeeze on them to lose money from their juggernaut.
It's one thing when a journalist infers that a price cut is coming, but it's a completely different beast when the president of the opposition says it's coming. Those words carry far more weight with far more risk for sales impact.

Why do you care anyway? You think nobody will buy a PS4 now because a guy from MS said it will get cheaper soon? The Playstation brand is alot stronger than that.

Sony fans became over sensitive with the success of the PS4. The guy has an opinion, and that's about it. He was asked a question, and he answered, no bashing to Sony or shady tactic to reduce their sales.

Lol Phil Spencer defense force at it again. And no. He has an option "no comment, I don't work at Sony anymore.", which is the handiest to say. But he is desperate anyway. No surprise.
