Forums - Sony - Andrew House: PlayStation VR “will be priced as a new gaming platform” + no comment on PS4 price cut for the West

It's not going to catch on if it's something like $349-$399. If they want it to move anything significant, it should be $199-$249. If they want it to really be a hit, they should aim for $149.

If they can make it 300 USD (VR+PS eye) that will be more then enough, less than that is impossible maybe around 250 USD, And i expecting this will be compatible for future PS platform and such. If it's more then 300 USD like 400USD or 500 USD, i am expecting the price will go down easily depending on how the other competitor sales performance. It's a new type device it's hard to predict on sales number so the price speculation it's depend on the competitor and market situation.

I won't consider it unless its around $200 but even then its a steep price.

I don't think there is a point to pricing it competitively 399 or below. Its a niche device, VR is not going to take off, I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS< YOU'RE ALL CRAZY, NOBODY IS GONNA PUT GAWDDAMN GOOGGLES ON THEIR HEADS!!!!

might as well make money off of the gigantic waste of time and R&D

Instead of everybody guessing the price of PSVR, we should just ask Phil Spencer.
He seems to be well informed about all things Sony.

I can see it being priced around the $299 mark.

And if ps4 does drop the rumored $100 down to $299 this holiday, that would bring Sony a lot of New customers in so when this does go on sale next year, there will already be a lot of potential consumers to sell to.

PS4 is projected to be around 36 - 40 million worldwide by March I believe, which is when this is said to arrive, so that would be a nice number of ppl willing to try it once they see it in stores being demoed like gamestop and best buy.

But only if Sony is smart with the pricing.

What I was expecting, thanks but no thanks.

It's almost as if he wishes he worked for Sony the way he's always talking about their business lately.

Can't blame him, everyone wants a piece of that ps4 success right now.

Confirm 2017 the and of VR (If cost 400$) lol seriously so match for this and is don't even wireless?
