Heh. Came to this thread to say exactly this. Around 20-30, but for some reason I ended up with more than 150 games on my 360. :P
Excluding all of the free games I got with PS+ (I am not considering those as being bought), my retail + digital totals are as follows (approximations)
PS3 - 60
PS4 - 20
WiiU - 10
I expect the PS4 total to end up being about the same or higher than the PS3 total by the end of the generation.
10-30.
If i buy a console I want it to be worth.
If more than 30 then I loved that console.
100+ on Playstation consoles, and comfortably so.
Nintendo consoles usually end up around 20.

On average I usually only get a half a dozen games when I get a console... sometimes not even that much (rental days made that easier). I bought almost a dozen on my latest one (my most ever) and I've been hearing all these complaints about release dates for games and how consoles need to release games on a steady basis. Here I am enjoying the ones I have. Perhaps games don't have the replay value they used to have.
So, all this made me ask the question, how many games do people generally buy for their console? |
The most games I bought for a console was PS2, not counting repurchase I think I bought between 5-10, borrowed a few more. I'm the kind of person that spends inordinate amount of time on my games, not to the degree of completionists, but more than the general gamer. A 5 hour games translates to a 20 - 30 hour game for me so.

I have like ~10 GameCube, ~5 Wii, ~5 Wii U and ~20 3DS :/

Hard to answer because I have close to 30 consoles. Some consoles like the turbografx 16 I only have two games because of the price and how hard they are to find. Other like the ps3 I have over 100 because they are cheap and I love em. I have over 700 on my modded wii but does that really count? I don't have a ton of nintendo games because the prices are a little rediculous.
Always over 20 so far, the GameCube is the console where I bought the most retail games (over 30).
Hm... let's say 12 - 20 games per system, although there naturally are exceptions.
