Maybe they'll take the time to actually make it a REAL all new Star Fox game, as it should be, with branching paths through one or moral solar system maps, and MUCH better graphics (because the Wii U hardware is capable of it), and anything ELSE making it more like SF64, as it should be, that you can think of.

I wasn't going to buy it anyway. So perhaps IF they actually upgrade it from basically being SF64: Remix, to being a totally original new SF game (that DOESN'T suck), then they may have succeeded in getting my money then.

It's already been confirmed to have branching paths.

And ugh, it won't suck. Why are you so negative about it? I understand non-Star Fox fans saying it will suck, or people who liked Adventures/Assault (who I think count as non-fans too), but if you want a true, solid new Star Fox that's exactly what we're getting.

Don´t even bother, some things just become trends and people follow trends they don´t even know why. Now shitting about Star Fox is a trend, and while none of this complains would exist if the game had bad ass graphics, people is already shitting the game as a whole just because internet is doing so, gameplay wise looks as good as the original but with the chicken switch that makes it more interesting, and the all range mode looks way better than SF64 imo.

Inb4 they don't improve it at all and was just so they could have a game in January - March.

THIS.

I wouldnt get my hopes up in the graphics department tho. I think Nintendo is trying their best to spread the few games that they have planned for the next year so the droughts wont be too severe. For example, this year the Wii U didnt received a retail game for as much as 2 to 3 months. Remember how we were on almost July and there were like 3 games released on the whole year. Thats not good at all.

I agree with this delay, not for technical reasons but for strategic market reasons.

There is no logic to delay main holiday title in order to bi filler for Q1. Star Fox would certainly move more consoles and had much better sales of game itself in holiday season than in Q1. So it's very obvious that they delaying game just to polished it, not to mentioned that lot a people predict that Star Fox Zero will be delayed.

So basically ur saying those games don't count because they don't interest u?

I'm giving reasons as to why I do not view the general public liking this line up (aside from xenoblade X). Do you want to prove me wrong and talk about how animal crossing amiibo festival or fatal frame will out perform something like halo 5?

Why do they have to outperform Halo 5? What kind of rediculous goalpost is that?

U asked how many 2D platformers does Wii U need, well I could easily ask how many first-person shooters or open-world action games do PS4/XB1 need? 2D platformers are popular among Nintendo fans just like those genres are popular among PS/XB fans so they continue to get made, simple as that. Also Yoshi games have sold over 1 million on numerous occasions, same for Mario Tennis, that doesn't mean they will on Wii U but it does show that historically these series have performed well.

As for Fatal Frame, ya it's really niche and likely won't sell a ton but that doesn't take away from it being a solid title and one that helps diversify the Wii U library, same goes for Devil's Third (I know this game has gotten mediocre reviews but from the sounds of it the multiplayer is pretty fun).

Amiibo have proven to be extremely popular so I wouldn't be surprised to see the Animal Crossing figures sell a ton, also the game is free digitally so if people are buying the Amiibo anyway than its very possible they will download the game as well. Let's be honest, this game is basically meant to sell Amiibo.

We could also probably add Fast Racing Neo to the list as this game looks really good and has gotten quite a bit of hype. Also titles that aren't exclusive like Skylanders, Disney Infinity, Lego Dimensions, Just Dance, Guitar Hero could all sell well on Wii U this holiday.

Like I said, the loss of Star Fox is a bummer but there is still plenty to choose from this holiday.

I'm using the size of a game as judgement of how the general public will view the games (they are the ones buying the Wii u for the holiday). Xenoblade X is the only game I (and many others) see to match fallout, halo, witcher, blood borne, cod, etc. in either sales or reviews. Xenoblade is the only game in that list that has a big budget, has a big world, and has a lot of hype to actually drive wii u sales. Does that mean the other games are bad? No, they just won't be selling wii u's any time soon so most people don't include them in the "lineup". And with regards to having "plenty" to choose from, I disagree and think this may be one of the saddest holidays for a nintendo console.

Well, it needed more polish so that's a good thing software-wise. On the hardware side, it makes things look even worse. Starfox was easily the biggest game scheduled for this holiday season (Xenoblade will be great but not too many people are into this kind of game).
Don't know why people think this points to a later NX launch. If anything, it shows that Nintendo doesn't care about Wii U sales anymore and NX will release very soon (or worse: they gave Starfox less resources because of their next gen hardware). If you plan on keeping your console around, you don't mess around with release dates. Starfox will have a way smaller impact on hardware sales in Q1.

But hey: I didn't like the look of the game and maybe I'll be more interested after the delay. Here's hope!

So only big budget games with big worlds count, yep that makes a ton of sense when discussing a consoles lineup.

It feels like they are spreading their releases out , and simply riding splatoon, mario maker and bundles for the holidays.   I still think  NX handheld comes out next yr, but the home version I think will be in 2017.

When discussing a consoles line up, do you discuss all indie titles coming for that console? Or do you discuss all the big games coming to that console? Typically you discuss the big ones because those are the ones that leave an impact. Xenoblade X is the only big title coming for the Wii u that will actually have a big impact

Tell that to Tropical Freeze.
