A stylus is kind of different than controllers.  Sounds like there is a removable cap on this one but this isn't working parts really.  Controllers you have buttons.  A stylus is a stylus.

I don't care that it's different. I wasn't saying its similar. I'm saying my reasoning is. For another example, it's the same reason I only buy brand chargers. I don't care which is better, because I like the uniformity.

Understandable.  I just watched the video and apparently it has sensors / moving parts in it.  Do you draw a lot?

I'm all for making fun of Apple products, but if this is like a pressure sensitive stylus used with graphic design tablets then the price is high, but not too ridiculous. Especially if this allows people to skip the drawing tablet and just use their regular tablets; that would save them a lot of money if they're the type who wants to spend a ton on a Cintique or something. A regular stylus does nothing more than interact with a touch screen, but these other kinds are a lot more precise and stuff.

But I guess I'm too lazy to actually look into what it does.

I'm pretty sure the thing costs more than 99 Cent to make. Of course it's expensive, but everything from Apple is expensive. I paid 50 € for my Sony Stylus for the Vaio Tap 11. It's not exactly just a piece of plastic like the ones for the Nintendo DS. They need power and everything. And my Sony Stylus doesn't have a built-in battery, you need AAAA batteries for it (I didn't even know those exist before!), so that's a factor why that Apple thing is a little more expensive. I'm also pretty sure it is of higher quality.

Long story short: The stylus is expensive, but it's not as bad as some want it to be.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

this is how Apple miserably fails at stealing your money

Wacom will feel this.. No more need for their expensive Cintiq monitors and tablets.. Their Cintiq tablets are twice the price of an iPad Pro with Pencil.. And it looks like Apple's solutions is just as good..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Well actually no, you're only paying $1 for the stylus.

The other $98 are for the privilege of having the Apple logo on it.

This. Its like a law anything with the apple name must be overpriced.

Plus it does all that other stuff that iPads do.  You're right, Wacom's going to hurt from here on out.  They might have to just focus on the cheaper tablets and drop the whole Cintiq thing.  Either that or drastically change the price, which would cut into their profit margin but might keep them in business.

Are iPads better than a camera at taking a picture? Specialist items will always be better. Will it have the Wacom level of details on it or is it just an overpriced stylus for a touch screen computer?

Hmm, pie.

Seems like you are the target audience for this particular item.  Myself, having no artistic talent, I look at it as a disturbingly overpriced piece of plastic.

Should have said that. This is obviously not a product for someone merely looking to jot down note in school or something.

Yes.
