Forums - Microsoft - Ubisoft hints at future Xbox One backwards compatible games

Ubisoft has asked fans which Xbox 360 games they would like to see made backwards compatible with Xbox One, hinting at the prospect of Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Assassin's Creed 2 coming to the new-gen console.

An image teasing potential backwards compatible games was posted by Ubisoft Mexico last night, featuring Xbox 360 digital artwork for a range of the publisher's Xbox 360 titles, including:

Assassin's Creed

Assassin's Creed 2

Assassin's Creed 3

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Assassin's Creed Revelations

Beyond Good & Evil HD

Call of Juarez

Driver: San Francisco

EndWar

Far Cry 2

Far Cry 3

Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier

HAWX

Prince of Persia (2008)

Rainbow Six Vegas

Rayman Origins

Splinter Cell Blacklist

Splinter Cell: Double Agent

Ubisoft has already announced two Xbox One backwards compatible titles - Rainbow Six Vegas and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - with both due to be given away free to those who pick up the Xbox One version of Rainbow Six Siege.

Earlier this summer, Ubisoft's CEO also suggested that the Splinter Cell franchise could make its way onto the service.

Xbox One backwards compatibility allows Xbox One users to play a range of Xbox 360 games they own on the current-gen console. The service is currently available to test by Xbox One Preview Program members, before rolling out in full in November.

Other backwards compatible titles include Mass Effect, Borderlands and Gears of War. Source: facebook.com/Ubisoft.Mexico (via reddit.com)

I still have some AC games I haven't finished on 360 and a lot more Ubisoft games so I'll gladly accept.

i'm starting to regret getting my multiplatform games on the ps3...

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

This makes me wonder if Gamestop will try to raise the price of newly BC 360 games. If not I'd definitely go by and pick some up.

This BC is so elegantly announced by MS. They have been great at pitching this as a way of making every old game seem like a fresh new release, and they are really showing how Nintendo should have worked with BC. I hope this will turn out to be succesful among consumers.

Hmm? Ubisoft doing everything wrong again... Don't they know that nobody cares for BC like at all? It never did anything to any platform. Why not just use the old console instead? I want to play next-gen games, not the old games. I don't know why MS does this, it is totally useless. They even have to modify every game, without owning the code to do so. How will this even work? And what with DLC? And performance? Also, I have to download the whole game! Although I already have the disc! What were they thinking when they designed the BC. Total waste of resources. I mean, they are 2 years late and it won't change sales in any way. Everybody thinking it will make a substantial change is just delusional. The inclusion of Fallout 3 with Fallout 4 is only to hide the inferior multiplatform version the Xbone is going to get and it will also lead to a massive difference in sales, no matter what MS does. Again, what were they thinking? It has desperation written all over it. I mean the console can't even make games run at 1080p, it's 1080pr. And now it gets games that are rendered at an even less resolution? Pff..
It's funny that the media is hyping it, althoug WiiU and Sony did it way before MS and now it's a thing? Why?

No, this is not a serious post.

With the way MS is going with BC, they will lose money for each game they release.

I'm serious.
Halo5 sales- 2mil LT ftw.

Funny how the original BC announcement sounded like almost every game should work just like that, and the exceptions would be somewhat are or up to the publishers. Now it's starting to seem like most games not being playable on Xbox One and instead only certain games getting BC. Or maybe I just misunderstood the original announcement. Either way, this is a slightly disappointing way to go at it.

I see it as pretty good, actually. Not only do you get people excited the first time thinking all their xb360 games will work on xb1, but you have websites posting articles about companies merely thinking about making certain games BC compatible. MS couldn't have done a better job even if they'd tried. Constant free advertising. Poor Ninty on the other hand, gets no credit.

Anyway, I don't see it as disappointing at all.
