I think it looks way better than Forza 5, which was a bitter disappointment to me personally.

That said, I doubt it will outsell Forza 5, as there are a surprising number of people who will just skip a release in an iterative series like Forza, GT, Madden, etc. But more importantly, it's releasing right in a crapstorm of content this fall that even while not directly competing on the race-sim field, more than likely will have most gamers priorities in purchasing.

This fall's lineup blows away 2013 and 2014 by a long shot for console imho.

My guess for Forza 5 total lifetime sales : 3M (if they mark it $19.99 value or whatever and keep it on shelves/online)

My guess for Forza 6 total lifetime sales : 2M

Forza 5 isn't gonna sell an additional million of physical units. I don't think any Forza game ever sold a million units post a new release.

2 million is a safe bet because that's generally what the series has done, assuming you exclude periods of mass bundling.

Doubt it a lot of people are already playing it since they bought the Ultimate Edition like I did and that is not going to show up in sales because its digital only.

''A lot of people'' dont tell me much, lets wait for official numbers.

I still predict that it will sell less than Forza 5 tho.

As long as it sells a couple million, I think everything will be okay.

Well 6 made 5 totally obsolete.  6 has everything 5 has and ton more and the only good car that didn't make it from 5 to 6 is the 1987 RUF CTR Yellowbird but that car was a VIP car so not that many people had it and it got cut because Porsche coming back early next year.  4 on the other hand didn't make 3 totally obsolete since it has a couple of locations that didn't make it into 4 and more then a handful of really good cars that didn't make it into 4 most noticably the two racing Cadillac CTS-V's, the 2004 Ford #10 Tiger Racing Mustang, the 2004 Volvo #24 At-Speed S60R and the 1998 Porsche 911 GTI Strassenversion (Streetversion).  Also since the Porsches where paid DLC for 4 if you wanted Porsches for free it was cheaper to just buy 3 instead.  Plus 4 never got a Ultimate Edition so it never got a major boost a year later like Forza 3 did.

Even with a $19.99 version I can't see 5 selling close to another million physical copies.  Since 6 pretty much made 5 totally obsolete and redundant.

To Forza hardcore fans 5 might be redundant. But I remember (and still see) GT5 being on shelves with a $19.99 special edition, and I almost never see GT6 in the wild. And GT5 sold massively better than 6. Circumstances were a bit different with the timing, but it really depends on if MS still does any $19.99 software, I'm not even sure they do that any more.

EDIT : But yeah, if they just discontinue it or never discount it, then it's totally dead obviously. It's why I said 'if' they lower the price and keep it in print.

Forza 6 is a massive upgrade from Forza 5 though. Even rated higher. I don't see how this is the same as GT5 and GT6.

So critically the best racer this gen. At least it looks to be a lot better than Forza 5 and it seems the weather affects gameplay like no racer has done before.
I wonder what Forza 7 will do in terms of improvement.

Weather effects were there and had a huge effect on gameplay in GT5, released 5 years ago on a last-gen console.

Ratings aside, GT5 and GT6 have their own strengths and weaknesses.
GT6 is a massive upgrade in tracks, premium cars, and dynamic time and weather compatible tracks.
GT5 has procedural rally stages, user made tracks, actual endurance races (GT6 limited to 24 minutes in career) yet the online has been switched off.
Both have their specific extras, GT really needs a definitive ps3 edition. Just for the fact that it took over 3 hours to update GT6 the other day :(

Anyway yeah, I don't see a reason to get FM5 over FM6 unless you don't want to spend too much trying out the series.

whats so much better than fm5? this is what fms5 should have been its an update then its getting a free pass

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

Exactly even though GT6 has more cars and few more tracks they also deleted stuff that was in GT 5 like endurance races, B spec career mode and the ability to level up which wasn't that well execute since the max level was level 50 and it was pretty easy to get there.  Forza 6 on the other hand has everything 5 and a ton of more content the only thing they reduced is the number of badges you can earn but most of them have different levels now (bronze, silver, gold and platinum) so unlocking most of them still will take a very long time.
