They probably need to have a popular console before it's in their interest to get all those extra people working on it. As much as I love the Wii U, it's clear they can't and won't turn it around now.

But they can make launch titles for the NX and perhaps pull one or two Twighlights so Wii U owners don't feel screwed by Nintendo.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Of course they should. They are, too, but I think the new staff has been eaten up by the extra demands of HD development, so the net result in game production was negligible. Ideally I'd like to see 2 or 3 full teams at Retro, EAD Tokyo and Monolith as they all make fantastic games. That and a couple other independentish studios, one in NA and another in the UK.

They should hire Tachikoma and CaptainYuri.

.... Are you trying to send nintendo 6 feet under?

Nah, with those two onboard, the glory days shall be once more.

The simplest answer I ever gave in here; yes they should.

they should pick up competent indie studios in europe. shin'en would be a nice new studio for nintendo

Desperately.

I think Nintendo is already aware of this. Ofc they are. They know how to handle this kinda of stuff

Do they? They struggle to support both the 3DS and the WiiU.

The Japanese development side is adequate, especially if the NX is a shared library platform. Most of Nintendo's resources are tied up making two versions of every hit franchise they have. Sony/MS don't have to do that.

IE: Instead of having to make Mario 3D Land for 2 years, and then Mario 3D World for 2 years, a studio like that likely in the future will just be able to make one game, and then move on to an entirely different project like say a Wave Race game (just as an example).

What they could use, and hopefully the new leadership understands this is a decent sized US or European studio.

200-250 people that can work on two games simultaneously in Seattle, UK, LA, Vancouver, etc. where ever they decide.

If the NX actually is a shared platform in that way, then honestly I don't think game droughts will be as much of an issue, but Nintendo's game diversity/library appeal is still lacking.

Rare brought Nintendo some nice diversity in the 90s, and it would be nice to have a studio capable of working on different IP like that from the West again.

They do seem pretty small for a company that has 2 consoles and a lot of games.
For comparison the number of employees according to wiki
Nintendo has 5,213
Electronic Arts 8,400
Activision Blizzard 6,690

As I've said, Nintendo really values being a small company. They are obsessed with their corporate culture, and if the company got too big, that would get watered down.

This is after Nintendo expanded quite a bit too, they were at a smaller number before if I'm not mistaken.

But yes Nintendo is actually a very small company. When people complain about things like the Wii U OS being slow, missing features, etc. ... you have to remember company wise, Nintendo is fairly tiny and of that most of their development staff are game designers, not OS designers. They have a tiny fraction of the resources of a Google or an Apple or a MS when it comes to things like OS development.
