I find this very odd, the thought that some things are better off being lied about forever and that the family would be better off not knowing that someone was spending their families incoming to have sex with another married person... it's nuts.

Would be like someone having a go at the courts for bringing people up for fraud... like everyone was fine with it until the damn courts said about it, how dare they ruin lives of people who cheat!! like I said, nuts imo.

Your response is not what I said.  I never said that things are better being lied about.  What I am saying, is that's for the individual situations and liers to sort out, not some idiot in a basement on a computer who knows nothing about the situation.  Ask yourself this question:

Who  did a worse act:

-A man who cheated on his wife.

-A man who revealed information, the result of which caused 27 suicides, combined centuries of sadness and depression to harmed individuals, 100s of children who had difficult lives due to broken homes and depressed parents, perhaps resulting in their own drug addictions or crimes, and thousands more broken formerly healthy relationships for no reason because of individuals who had used Ashley Madison as a joke or possibly had their email stolen.

I'm not saying no-knowledge, no-harm.  What I'm saying is it's not the place of an interenet hacker to decide, and there is no question the hacker's actions will directly result in far more real-world harm.

Again, people who commit crimes get put in jail which causes strain on their families or it causes people who done moderately joke crimes like not paying parking tickets end up being raped or becoming hard drug addicted criminals in jail, end of the day... you aren't going to blame a cop for arresting someone in the first place, cause and effect, those who had signed up and made accounts on a website designed for cheating with their real information (would love to know what kind of derp would use their real info to stalk people they know on a site like this)

I'm going to keep going back to this, but if a guy hid the fact that he used this site (or visa versa) who was married, they took vows that their wealth is shared, which means when the guy is using "his money" to pay to cheat on his wife, he is using 50% of her cash to do it... I find that pretty fucked up if I'm honest.

Like even if you happen to live in a country where the act of cheating is not legally doing something wrong, then using your spouses money without her knowledge to pay for this service is theft. (of course in other countries different vows are taken too, I can appreciate that)

tl:dr - who is wrong? the person who cheated, end of story.

You completely missed the fact that it's not only cheaters that are harmed by this. Get your head out of the sand.

The cheater is wrong, but so is the idiot hacker who self-proclaimed themselves judge and jury.

Aye cheaters families finally get to know their partners were lying to them. I'm sorry their heads were pulled out of the sand by this I'm sure they would have been better off living their lie of a life while their partner spent their money to hide lies from them?

You seem to be taking this a little personally tho, so I don't really fancy going into it if it's going to drum up anger, not my cup of tea! I'm not saying that hackers who did this are all saints, but I do think that releasing the information from this site now is better than leaving something like this continue and for people to think that paying money to a site online makes it perfectly safe and fine to cheat on their partners. There are some long term benefits to it having happened now imo.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

so the ohh liberty my liberty americans are crying over cheating? news flash, there is no such thing as cheating, everybody is free to choose when to have sex with a consenting partner of his/her choice. everything different is moraly wrong because it takes away the birthrights of free men(and women).

Just in case nobody mentioned it yet, here's the really funny/ironic part about the "Ashley Madison Hack":

The site had over 20 million active male users, but less than 1500 active female users. So in practice, the male-to-female ratio was 13585 : 1, meaning hardly any of the men registered on this website can ever actually have had sex with a female "Ashley Madison" user.

I was with a girl yesterday, we talk about fidelity , and i understood it was an old concept, it doesnt make sense anymore in this world ( she is a teacher , not someone you'd see like an uneducated bitch or something ), why being frustrated and deny your needs ? It's natural to want others even if you are in love with someone, sex and love are 2 différent things.

And "free" girls are much more open minded than "faithful" girls who will always end up cheating on someone one day or an other anyway ( same for guys with a lot of occasions )

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

Because there's no way in hell that different people may want different things and have different feelings toward love, sex and relationships. Wanting more than one partner (for sex, love, etc.) is natural for some while sticking to a single person is natural for others. If there's something old and outdated here, it's the idea that everyone has to share the same point of view.

OT:

Can't say I feel bad for those who got their secrets exposed. They had it coming, really. I also believe that the true victims, the partners of these nitwits, deserved to know what was going on behind their backs. That doesn't mean that what the hackers did was right though.

I'm not against the hack, using the Internet to commit adultery is a grand misuse of the technology. The Internet is for porn and general idiocy, and finding extra-marital partners should be done the old fashioned way.

Fidelity is not about wanting others and being wrong for that. Fidelity is being in a mutual agreed exclusive relationship and sticking with it and being honest and truthful. If you are in a non exclusive relationship then there is no concept of fidelity because there is no agreement as to the amount of partners you can have, or it can even exist like agreeing to use condom with everyone. What you probably meant with that was about polygamy and monogamy. And both have their place in society.

If we look into how most people react when cheated on or even think about it, you can see it is as primal as the desire to have sex with every single person they find attractive. If we are going to say that having multiple partners is natural, then also wanting only one exclusive is also natural. Love is also natural and it can be considered a fact that 99% of people will want that person only for themselves, or there wouldn't be so many crimes of passion. As I have said, there are various primal mechanisms also seen in apes regarding infidelity and the thought of it. Also building families is the best way to raise a child and have more chances of survival all around.

People talk a lot out of their asses when it comes to this subject. There is no best solution for monogamy or polygamy. It is whatever people want and all you have to do is find someone else that agrees with you. If someone breaks trust then how you deal with it will differenciate between people but I can only see crimes of passion as completely wrong. If you are extremely upset, or don't care and not even want to know if your spouse cheats on you, then that is your choice, just don't complain later.

And people who think about cheating, Jesus, just jerk off first and then see if you want it still.

I'm glad this happened. That is some highly respectable hacking.
