No FF is an old franchise and splatoon is new

has nothing to do with old and new. Splatoon sold more than 95% of old franchises this generation in japan so far.

That said i really believe if it weren't for the horrible userbase, splatoon would easily be over 2mil by now. Splatoon has potential to be > FF in japan imo. Though FFXV will sell more

Considering the Wii-U has more than a million unit lead in Japan? Totally possible. The PS4's going to have to up their install base.

Same could be said for Final Fantasy really. FF has the potential to be much bigger than it currently is in Japan.
