Monolith is not "outside" of Nintendo. Its a Nintendo first Party Studio like Retro.

I consider Retro and Monolith second party. Nintendo didn't create those studios... they bought them. Just like Naught Dog for Sony and Bungie with Microsoft. Those studios existed before they were purchased by these big companies.

Whether you consider them second party or not, it doesn't mean you are correct. They are part of Nintendo just as ND is part of Sony and any other studio is part of its parent, just like Bioware to EA.

Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

All I gotta say is this. For a console to stay afloat without any substantial third party support is pretty damn impressive.

Saying the Wii U has stayed afloat is really, really generous. It's more like it has managed to keep clawing up a few inches from certain doom. In fact, this generation may be the one that has hit Nintendo hardest for their lack of third party support. It's the weakest its ever been, and not so surprisingly, Nintendo home console sales are the weakest they've ever been. Of course, that is just one problem with the Wii U that has held it back, but it is certainly a prominent one.

Nintendo was actually one of the founders of Retro Studios in cooperation with ex-Iguana Entertainment people

There is a difference between something like 343 and Bungie. Bungie made games on their own before being bought out. 343 was created BY Microsoft. Technically, they were both "first party", but totally different situations.

I still can't understand who buys games like Mass Effect 3 on Wii U...
Wii U doesn't have the target audience for these games!

NOt many when they release a trilogy pack at the same time on the other systems for lowever cost than a single game lol.

It makes no difference to the end result though. These studios are still owned by their parent companies. Like I said, Bioware was its own identity but it is now owned by EA and has been for a while. It's now an EA studio.

The majority of companies and studios are started on their own then purchased or acquired by larger companies. They were at one point their own studio, but they are now an affiliate of their parent company. That's indisputable. Therefor if Monolith creates something, it's part of Nintendo. If Rare creates something it's part of MS. If Naughty Dog creates something, it's part of Sony.

Funny since some people consider Intelligent Systems second party when Nintendo created that from the ground up.

Either way, doesn't matter what you consider it, being wrong is wrong.

I just find it interesting/somewhat funny that people cared so much about the DLC for mass effect and batman.
so basically, people are ignoring this console because this practice of stripping content from a game only to sell it later wasnt being supported with these games. thats wonderful. thats exactly how the developers want you to feel. they want you to expect dlc and think of it as a good thing. they want to be able to announce what the dlc is going to be at the time that the game releases so you think you are getting something extra when in all actuality, you are paying more for what should have been there in the first place. so if they see that people arent going to buy games for a console that doesnt have that "feature" then it pretty much tells them all they need to know.
