People who make games are arists. They play by different rules.

That is why most artists are poor they think  they are better than everyone because their expressing themselves.

Artists are poor because they don't prioritize money. For them, it's art>money. If they happen to MAKE alot of money off their art? Great. But it's not the reason they get up in the morning.

As far as thinking they are better than everyone else, I'd like to see where you got those stats from lol

I don't need stats most my friends who chose to become artists have ended up either 1. changing careers 2. poor and barely scraping up complaining about it or 3. went on to do a teaching degree and become art teachers.

I used to do art myself then I saw the light and switched to a technical background before I got too old. At the end of the day you need money to support a family, not talking about becoming super rich, that is the reality. Perhaps in some countries were cost of living is so small you can get away with it.

You don't choose to become an artist. It chooses you. If it were a choice, no one would really want to do it because like you said, 99% of the time, you're going to be broke.

So what's the problem? Retro did or did not want to work on federation force and Tanabe said yes or no?

Is this about the guys who left to start Armature studios so they could make spinoff batman games, work on a Megaman Metroid Prime Ripoff only to get it cancelled, and do wiiu ports of kickstarter indie games?

If it is I find it even more laughable. Gone from creating games to porting shit lol

I am looking forward to Recore.  But until that announcement those guys had really embarrassed themselves. I have high hopes for Recore.

I don't understand the OP. Are the folks at Retro Studios offended because Tanabe gave MP: FF to another developer or are they offended by the game itself and what it stands for? It's kind of childish to get offended over not getting to develop FF. And if they get offended by something like that, then they should've really gotten pissed when Tanabe gave Hunters and Pinball to other studios.

I don't believe this. Retro Studios is too top tier to be wanting to make games like Metroid Prime: Federation Force.

Neither of those things are the topic. The theory goes the game was offered to another developer because Retro and Tanabe have bad blood.

Check the link below. (note to Admins: it's not really porn please don't ban me!)

This is quite off topic, but I really feel you're overly romanticizing this...

Retro actually wanted to do Federation Force!?. Tanabe gave a C class game to C class developer. Surely Retro would want better projects? Or do they enjoy resting on their laurels?

I'd hardly call the team that made the Mario Strikers games and the excellent Wii Punch Out, "C class". Even Luigi's Mansion 2 was solid.

Perhaps THEY deserve something better? Then again, no one knows whether or not this game is going to be "bad". People are just pissing their pants because it's not a REAL Metroid Prime game. Me personally? I could care less. I want a new 2D Metroid, REAL 2D. Not a Prime game. And Nintendo has been going big on multiplayer lately, with games like this, Splatoon, and the new multiplayer Zelda for 3DS. So let em. For all anyone knows, this might be fun.

But me? I still want a 2D, Super Metroid sequel. WITHOUT a shitty story this time.

I am fine if there is bad blood at this point. I would much rather see Retro work on different IP then get stuck making new iterations of the same franchise over and over again as good as they have shown themselves, even with turnover between when they first made the classic Metriod Prime and the most recent DK: Tropical Freeze.

Would you call the team that made Transformers: Cybertron Adventures or Captain America: Super Soldier "C class"?
