It's insane that so many believe in digitimes rumors.

This thread isn't about NX releasing in 2016, which is a rumor. Nintendo SAID themselves they expect NX to reach that goal, which is no rumor

It's a rumor until there is offical confirmation, and so far Nintendo has said nothing on this officially.

Because the market is not there.....


It is still just a rumor, but while the handheld market is certainly down it is still an easy 6-10 million for a first year, especially if it has backwards compatibility. That leaves the console audience to make up the remainder. regardless we don't know what the NX is, when it will release or what numbers they are aiming for. The site mentioned is known to simply make shit up for hits (which the OP has kindly given them through this thread).

3DS+Wii U first year shipments were about 20 million, that's with software droughts, bad marketing, and high prices.
