Forums - Sony - So I just played TLOU for the first time..

Awesome that you enjoyed it. It's my second favorite game, favorite game last Gen. It's actually the reason I'm primarily a PS gamer now. I still have my Xbox, I was a 360 primarily user till I got tired of shooters, shooters, and racing games.
Naughty Dog has really made me gear towards the amazing storytelling on PS with fun game play. Love having my feels destroyed lol

This game is so special and it's great to see that so many people have this same feeling too. And now I think it's time to replay it again

I wasn't sure what response to expect in this thread. But it's amazing how many people and probably many many more that went on this amazing journey that Naughty Dog created and took in every second of it.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

I always love hearing how much people enjoyed TLOU. So many wonderful moments in that game. My wife wanted to watch me play through the entire game so she can experience it as well. I had to slow down here and there to accomodate her schedule, but it was worth it!

Ha nice.

Just recently, I was was seeing this girl. She watched me play TLoU for about an hour or 2 and loved it (part in Ish's sewers to the part where--SPOILER!!!!!!--Sam and his brother die). We decided to stop seeing each other, then a few days later I get a text from her asking if she can watch me play through he beginning of TLoU haha. She was so engrossed in the story she wanted to see how it all started.

I will say...something that took me a long time to get over was Ellie's absolutely excessive use of the word fu%#. I just find it irritating. If she used it sometimes it wouldn't bother me, but she's a 13-14 year old kid; using it all the time felt ridiculous. I would even be fine if they at least didn't have her do it during the very emotional moments. Every time something emotional happened and she would drop the f bomb it ruined the moment a little for me.

My brothers in the army. He has a dirty mouth, yet he felt the same way about Ellie. Might be bc he's a father.

The whole issue would have been made 100% perfect if one thing happened; I wanted just one time toward the end for joel to reprimand Ellie for saying fu%# all the time. I truly feel that would've been the perfect symbolism of his transition to being her father figure. I don't know of any father who would be okay with his 13-14 hr old daughter talking like that. Most fathers use the same language, but it's different when it's ur little girl.

Rant over. I love the game, and am currently on my second playthrough on Grounded mode to get the grounded mode plus trophy, but I just had to say this. Even on this playthrough I still get annoyed when something beautiful happens and Ellie responds "so fuc#%ing cool".

I bought a PS4 TLOU bundle a couple months ago, installed the game day one, and have yet to boot it up. I guess I probably should at some point.

Yup you should definitly do you self a favor and play this game.  But beware that this game has one major flaw:  Its production value is so sky high that it will make most other games feel weak in comparison.  You will only want to play the best after this game.  For a while.

The praise is overblown for one reason. It's not innovative. Games like OOT, the reason they get so much praise is because they change AN ENTIRE INDUSTRY. This game was great, and I have no issue with the praise. But it shouldn't be put into OOT category because it didn't really change anything. It is more evolution than revolution.

I does not have to change anything to be a good game.  Its simply doesn't.   It only has to to do everything very very well.  And thats what it did.   They never once claimed to be revolutionary.  They only set out to tell a story as best they could using the media on videogames.   Take a look at the best movies... they don't recreate the whole are of movies, they simply do it better than others can.   There is a difference between doing something and doing it so well, that it feels new and refreshing.

I could never understand that kind of rant. In the world they live in, there are much worse things to be concerned about than the quality of the language.

Only two games I've ever played are must play for me. Mass effect series and tlou. I guess technically that's four games but whatever. I sold my ps4 but once the sequel hits I'll get one again and then sell it back.

The most awarded game in video game history and the real reason why the PS4 had such a great launch.
