South Park was renewed by Comedy Central, ordering 30 new episodes that will see the series reach it's 23rd season.

South Park renewal could have been easily helped by Hulu paying online exclusive rights to the show with a record-breaking 192 million contract.

On the show's future, Matt Stone and Trey Parker had this to say and talked about a possible last episode:

"I think it's going to end with a fizzle, for sure," Parker said, laughing. "I think it's just going to end with some dud, and we're gonna go, 'F--- this, man,' and walk away."

"Some sort of whimper," Stone added. "Either drop the mic, get sued, get thrown off television — something like that."

Stone and Parker also discussed how they've felt that the show, which concluded its 18th season last December, has always been on the precipice of a collapse that they somehow seem to consistently avoid.

"Yeah, we've thought that for 18 years,"  Parker said. "We're like, 'Okay, well, they're going to cancel us, for sure!' We've been waiting to get canceled for 18 f---ing years."

"We won't stop until we get canceled," Stone added. "We're renewing. They have to f---ing cancel us, goddammit!"

This and Family Guy are never ending, I swear.

And the Simpsons as well. 

I'm fine with this last season was fucking great. Their falls seasons are alway good, the weak episodes were always in winter spring seasons. Now that those are gone it's been fucking gravy.

They have a good sense of humor about it.

Good. I want South Park until it literally kills Trey and Matt.

Last season had very good and hilarious episodes and then some whose main selling point were the relentless criticism of celebrities/pop culture personalities and popular hot topic discussions of the moment.

I find that South Park is way funnier when the episodes focus on the characters, but even when SP doesn't the show still brings something to think about, even when the way to do they bring a topic forward is to trash it in unimaginable ways.

I am glad South Park continues. :D
