what good is pushing an agenda? do you think im out here actually believing that im just going to talk shit on anythign sony does and its going to change people's minds? of course i dont think that because that is completely unreasonable. im simply stating what i thought of the e3 conference. in my view, sony doesnt win by showing games (that are highly suspect in themselves might i add, ive already kind of detailed that in earlier posts) that are going to be released sometime.. maybe.. in the future. some time. do you see what im saying? thats why i was talking about 2015.

you know, it seems like no matter how much explaining i can do as to why the lack of content in 2015 relates to the e3 conference, youre jsut going to shut me out and not listen anyway. so maybe we should just end this dialogue between eachother now.

Whatever you say. But you're not fooling anyone who knows your history here.

you know, ill let you in on something about myself and the history that i have here. when i first made this account, i did kind of view it as a throw away and made a lot of sarcastic threads that were supposed to be funny (top ten games of all time, top ten games of 2014 threads). that lasted for maybe half a year. in my day to day life, im much more interested in having rational discussions with people, and i think that is kind of what has always drew me to this site. more recently, that side of my personality has really taken over when it comes to my posting here. i have some posts that are either silly or maybe like one-liners, but more often than not, im really just trying to explain something and give people understanding about what im saying. these two sides of my personality often conflict with eachother and i understand how it can be confusing for people who see a lot of my posts. at heart, im a joker and a thinker, but i think if you care to pay attention enough, you can really see if im joking/trolling or actually trying to have a real discussion. and i can tell you honestly, 95% of the time its the latter. i had fun with the old threads, but im really a lot more interested in expressing my point of view to people, which is really hard to do considering my history. i hope you understand.

Point is that it's pretty weird for you to claim that you expected some new releases for this year at E3 when you made predictions before the show which include non of that. See, I know that Sonys first party is behind on the PS4 and that their 2015 output is thin, I've complained about it, but at this point bringing it up time and time again is not going to change that. This thread is about E3 conferences and who has "won" them, never has the winner of a conference been decided by who announces more games that are coming out in the same year, so bringing this into this thread seems like baiting and nothing more.

im bringing it up because it is in a thread about the e3 press conferences. yes, sony dropped big bombs, but we have no idea when those bombs are coming out, and even if they are coming out (well, some of them). like i said before, they should have had something this fall that they could have been able to announce. instead, they gave us a game that doesnt look like it has changed at all since its first showing (last guardian, what have they been doing with this title for all these years? at least it still exists), an announcement of a remake that was nothing but CG (no gameplay, really?) and an announcement of a kickstarter which just doesnt sit well or seem right to me. i mean, i get that these are big names to drop, but when you look past that, you have to ask yourself what are they even really giving you? horizon was the biggest and best thing out of all three conferences combined, so that was a great looking game that we actually saw detailed gameplay for and we know is coming soon.

i know everything i just wrote is going to piss you off, but please just try to remember that its just my opinion. i dont feel like sony gave us much that was solid or concrete and people look past all of that and overwhelmingly give them the win. i think MS had a much better show. and while nintendo had a terrible show with a terrible presentation, theyre delivering the goods which at the end of the day is what we are really all here for. but this topic isnt about that, it is about conferences.

They had something for this fall that they could have announced, you know what they did with that? They announced it a week before the show, apparently a huge mistake because now people are acting like it doesn't exist or that Sony not showing it at the conference makes that conference horrible. TLG doesn't look like it changed much because it was never actually running on PS3 hardware, the footage shown in 09 was running at a couple FPS and then sped up for the trailer. Yes the FF VII Remake trailer had no gameplay, just like the ReCore trailer had no gameplay, just like Star Fox last year didn't have any gameplay or SMTxFE when it was originally announced, CG trailers aren't great (though the FF VII trailer was awesomely done) but in this case it's the simple fact that this exists that makes it such a massive announcement. And I'm not going to discuss the whole freaking Shenmue situation again, suffice to say that I'm sick of people trying to bash Sony for actually helping to make it happen instead of bashing everyone else for not doing anything in the last 14 years.

And I don't have to ask myself what they are giving me cause I know that, yes like I said Sonys first party output in 2015 is slim (though I'm still getting the UC Collection and Rime as well as NMS and Persona 5 this year, all of which have at least some sort of exclusivity on PS) but starting 2016 the whole situation looks extremely different with SFV, UC4 and R&C coming in the first half of the year and Horizon, TLG and GT7 also looking at a 2016 release. There's also smaller games like Dreams and Rigs (though that's likely Morpheus exclusive) that are 2016 as well. All of those are just the already confirmed games, so I don't see how Sony didn't give us anything solid or concrete, even if that stuff is a little farther away. Even Shenmue 3 already has a release window they are aiming at (late 2017), FFVII Remake is literally the only announcement from the conference where there is no solid information of at least a release window of the game.

star fox was tacked on at the end. it took up absolutely no time, and was an amazing way to end the show. it was a cherry on top that we could look forward to some time in the future. they didnt use that as their bread and butter. also, i knew nothing of SMTXFE when it was first announced, therefore i didnt really use that as an example as points for nintendo for an e3 conference. maybe small points.

as for ps4, when 2016 comes, you might see me singing a completely different tune. we will have to wait and see.

People have finally come to their senses, good to see MS scoring well.

Also good to see the usual butt hurt comments.

Out of the last 4 months of the year, sony has 6 exclusives releasing while the xbox one has 2 exclusives and one timed exclusive.

This year alone sony is releasing 48 retail exclusive games and the xbox one is releasing 27 retail exclusive games.

There's 129 digital exclusive releasing this year and there's 33 digital exclusives releasing for the xbox one this year.

The PS4 has twice as many exclusive games in it's library than the xbox one overall.

What's bare bones and sad? You obviously are not aware of this year's line up or how badly the PS4 is outclassing the xbox one.

ive seen the stats youre talking about and ive seen the lists, dont worry.

what if i were to tell you that the wii in 2008 had 150 exclusives for the year (im pulling that number jsut as an example, but i honestly wouldnt be surprised if it were somewhere around that number. the wii had a fucking shit ton of exclusives), whereas the ps3 and 360 each had somewhere around 50 exclusives.

what if i sent you a list of titles that actually verified that? would that tell you anything meaningful? would you say, "damn the wii does have the most exclusives and clearly has the best lineup with all the games it has coming out for it." is that what you would say? im just curious. im trying to make a point here.

the list would look something like this:
wii: purr pals, real hero fire fighters, build a bear workshop, survivor, spy fox in dry cereal, imagine: babyz, attack of the movies 3d, etc.

sure, theyre all exclusives.. but what does that really mean? would you say that the wii had nothing lined up for the holiday, or would you recognize these titles as delivering the goods to the gamers?

If those games make that fanbase happy then who am I to say that the games aren't worth anything even if I personally don't like 'em. Alot of the 2015 PS4 lineup matters to it's fanbase and there's no games on that line up to just fluff up the numbers. I'm simply trying to set you straight on facts when you're saying things that are not true.

Havn't taken a jab at nobody. If I did you'll know about it.

Do the same poll in Europe/Japan or everywhere else in the world, the result would be totally different and would represent better the general opinion : PS4 won E3 by a long shot

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Man, the Xbox fanboys were out in full force on this one.

But it is IGN. lol
