People need to accept that Nintendo knows better what you want from your online experience.

just fired splatoon up and i agree cy, this is some BS. while the new mode is cool, i wanted to get in some splatzone

I think they're just trying to channel people into the new mode, Splat Zone will be brought back, but it still has a relatively small userbase, I think they just want to make sure the modes that are there have an adequate number of players of all skill levels.

For now it makes sense to get rid of Splatzones. You don't want it eating up time from fans looking to play Ranked Tower mode when the latter just launched. Long-term? Not a smart idea, but not a dumb one either. It'll lead to spikes every now and then and help keep the game relevant down the line. It's not like this game is gonna maintain a huge crowd forever, so doing what they can to keep it going between major updates isn't too irrational, even if it does piss a guy off here or there.

From what I've heard, the Ranked Battle modes will alternate every 4 hours just like the maps...unbelievably stupid. I'd like to know what idiot decided to make 2 maps and now two modes alternate every 4 hours. I could understand it when there were only 5 maps, but c'mon. Splatoon could be Nintendo's answer to CoD, but they keep making decisions to hold it back.

I hope this has all been sorted out by now, because this is some utter nonsense. I love Splatzones and my wife hasn't even tried it yet, as she is not a level 10... Now she'll reach it and have to play a different mode than that intended for your first round of ranked battle?

I'm getting a little tired of this slow rollout. The full game that we paid for needs to be available by the 1st of August, no later. People need to stop with the entitlement slams. We ARE entitled to the full game present on the disc in a somewhat timely manner. We paid for it.

I will wait for more info, but if true, Nintendo is doing a huge mistake.

Their Tower Mode official news hint at both modes being available, in the sense that nothing was took out of the game, but i can see the alternating idea happening.
