Forums - Nintendo - Possibly the biggest BS Nintendo has pulled yet with Splatoon!

I hope people understand now why I and some other people thought (still think) that it was extremely shitty from Nintendo to release the game with half of its content not yet out. Any half decent review would have picked up on this, quite frankly unacceptably shitty, feature (for fucks sake Nintendo your game can support more than 2 modes at once) and called it out and possibly deducted points for it.

That´s BS

Reviews only counted 5 maps and 2 online modes on their scores, some reviews (like IGN) don´t even counted Ranked Battles (Splat Zones) because it wasn´t avalible on day one, now the game has more maps, a bunch of weapons more and a new online mode that they didn´t counted, the game is better now than then and clearly underrated on Meta. Don´t try to act like the game is less good now because of this shitty decision because thats just stupid, people had been playing hours and hours for weeks and having a ton of fun with the game with only those 2 modes and they will continue, because the game is fucking good as it is.

After the big update on August you will be able to do private lobbies and customizable matches where you will be able to choose the mode that you want, whenever you want, and by that time there will be 4 modes.

It isn't and even if they didn't lower the score because of it, they would have at the very least mentioned it and you know, maybe some people would have been very much less interested in buying a game that tries bullshit like this. Simple fact, Nintendo not releasing the game finished has kept a feature that for all intents and purposes is shitty away from reviewers and people that bought the game at launch.

BS

In no way the game would be less appealing or have a lower score for having 4 modes at launch instead of 2. No freaking way.

The fact that ranked battles modes are rotational doesn´t make the game any worse, it just doesn´t improve it as much as it could, wich is a shame, but not a drama.

The main reason why people get excited about Splatoon and the focus on every review of the game is Turf Wars, not splat zones, not battle dojo, not tower control, not rainmaker, not even single campaign, it was turf wars, the same way that MK8 is globally praised and love only because one mode.

Now Splat Zones and Tower Control are very good modes too, and that shitty decision shows that they didn´t though this game could be as succesfull as it was, but the game is now not only as funny as ever, but even more. And again, you will be able to choose between 4 modes to play with your friends very soon, so the game is getting better with time, not the other way around.

The appealing and fun factor of Splatoon has not really diminished at all because of that, in fact, with all the new stuff is higher than ever.

 wasn´t discussing that.

But to say that the game would have scored worse now, that is pure bullshit.

i know, just felt like commenting on the scores...

mostly over reactions, it isn't everyday that a game mode goes missing... like i said, i haven't played it yet, but given everyones reactions and feedbacks on it, then i agree, just coz nintendo might have gone full retard and started rotating game modes that the game is worse now. maybe its even a bit better coz of new dlcs?

BS to you, the fact that you can not simply choose which mode you want to play at any time definitely does make the game worse for some people and if you don't believe me then you don't seem to realize what this thread we're in is about.

This thread is not about Splatoon being worse than before, that´s how you want to see it, it can´t be worse than before when is working as always but with more stuff than before.

Is about Splatoon owners dissapointed about the way a new mode has been integrated on the game, because this could have been done in a better way, but there is no place in this whole site for any kind of constructive criticism without some people not interested at all on the game downgrading it just because.

Splatoon is as good as always has been but with more stuff.

Game where you can play any mode you want at any time you want > Game where the devs decide when you get to play a certain mode

The simple fact that you can't play a mode that at launch you could in fact play whenever you wanted whenever you want anymore has every bit the potential to make the game worse for some people, thus it's called the biggest BS Nintendo has pulled with this game by the OP.

Do you think someone whose favourite mode is Splatzones is not going to think the game is worse for him now that he can't fire up the mode whenever he wants anymore? What about someone who has a busy worklife and only gets to play a couple hours a week, who finds out he can't play the mode he wants to play on his gaming evening because Nintendo decided it's not the right time?
