I love how this thread became a smash discussion, which would be a good thing except for the constant "smash 4 is better because..." or the "melee is superior because..." Both games are completely different and deserve their own credit, I respect the melee community because of how long they have manage to keep their game alive, smash 4 community however has other major concerns that should be more important than arguing about why they think their game is the best.

Exactly, both games are so different that to say one is better than the other is like comparing street fighter to mortal kombat. We see similarities, but as long as we realize that they are different games with different fans, we should be fine.

popular because it's better lol, there is no other way to determine how good games beside with popularity. You can argue many times how good your opinion is but you cannot beat popularity and general consensus lol.

I can easily argue the point. iPhones are the highest selling phones on the market, there not the best phones on the market. VW Beetles are the highest selling cars in the world, there not the best cars. Popularity does not mean the best. Its lke watching Sports, some of the biggest supported clubs in the world arent the greatest clubs in the world.

Popularity can be based off history and age of a product or franchise. Look at COD, its the highest selling FPS on the market and in my opinion its far from the best FPS game to play.

Woohoo Street Fighter! Still the best fighting game series there is.

I would love to see random fighting games make it to Evo ie. Naruto Shippuuden, DBZ etc..

There's correlation there but not necessarily causation.   KI was dead for a number of years and it's latest game was released in the most ass way possible on Xbox One.  It's expected to see a lack of popularity given the circumstances.

Nope Quality =/= Quantity, and beliving in other =/=  bad,  is like saying " stabing a knife in human body is fun " (minority people ),  but general consensus say that " no stabing knife in human body is paintfull ". Lol it doesn't mean you have  to follow  but at least they are general and easy to  accept because human almost have the same character and mental that love with on same aspect.

I wouldnt be making my judgments on whats great based off the human race which is far from perfect. Nazi's had a huge following so did Communism, in fact some of the worlds most hated sports teams have the biggest followings. Sorry numbers dont speak for all.
