Such a shame that it is only rated 71 on metacritic. If the current build was reviewed back at launch then i am sure it would have a metascore in the mid eighties.

In this industry it's all about first impressions.

Why is it a shame exactly? The game launched and it was broke. It deserves its meta score no matter if they have fixed it or not. Games like this, MCC, AC unity and batmans horrendous port on the PC don't really deserve any sympathy even if they will get fixed or have been fixed like MCC and DC have for the most part.

Because if a person sees this game on sale in a few years time after all the launch hate has fully died off then they go to metacritic to see if the game is worth buying they see review scores in the 40-50 mark talking about issues the game had years ago.

Batman in its current state on the PC doesn't run, it should currently hold a 0% on meta, when the game is patched and working should it still be rated eternally as a game that doesn't run? just because of a launch window issue that would be gone from it.

good they shoudln't buy it. this will teach the dev to release a complete working game hopefully. If they delayed it for 3months it would have been better.

It's the developers fault through and through. They should have released a working game day 1 instead of waiting and fixing the whole game with patches. They deserve all of the lost sales.

It is unfair to gamers though. In a fevv years if someone only vvanted that game for PC and savv that score they then vvould not get the game and enjoy it in its fixed state.

It's not about lost sales.  The entire point of something like Metacritic is to inform consumers and help them make smart choices.  If that's not happening then Metacritic isn't doing its job.  If someone buys a PS4 tomorrow and ends up not considering DriveClub because of an out of date meta-score, then that's a disservice to the consumer.

Updated reviews shouldnt be allowed. Imagine if there wont be any servers to download the patch. The game will be forever a rushed and gimped game. It gives the wrong message to these devolopers

You just described the Xbone situation... you can't do nothing without connect to the internet because it requires to start the first time... well it was at launch... I don't know today.
