Forums - Gaming - Why isn't Sony being more aggressive in America?

With Metal Gear Solid, Call of Duty, and Star Wars Battlefront, they really don't need to be any more aggressive. Sony understands that a healthy market is where competition thrives, but they also know how to keep a market. Plus distracting Microsoft with a battle in the US has opened up incredible leads in other countries.

I believe that:
1. Sony will not lose the US
2. The gap world wide will grow much wider than last year.
3. Microsoft's holiday win (if at all) will be at least 50% smaller than last year.

Cosmic-San, does Sony have exclusive rights to market The Phantom Pain? If it does, could you please provide a link? Thanks in Advance and much appreciated!

I would like to enter the sales of Ground Zeros and its disparity between the two consoles in the US.   I believe that there is no doubt that this will push PS4 much harder than the Xbox One by a tangible amount.   And if you don't accept that, I would differ you to the special edition PS4 Metal Gear Solid bundle. I will not provide a link and I think that is very indicatie of the relationship between Konami and Sony on this particular project.

I don't think Sony has exclusive marketing rights with Metal Gear, just a huge sales parity advantage, and a bundle arrangement.

I can't wait until the week of Oct. 27...

The week that Halo 5 Guardians launches...

Then we will see Sony's retaliation for all the XB1 sales promotions..

In fact, if they bundle 2 new, 2015, games with each system, then I just might
pick up my PS4 at that time, to hell with Black Friday !
Payback is a bitch, MS.

Yeah they should drop the price. Game bundles are great but people see price first, value second.

I remember people would say PS3 was so much more expensive than 360. But they never factored in the price of Gold to play online and rechargeable batteries for the controller.

did you miss all the free games and trade in promos?
free PS+ giveaways and many more?

the base ps4 now Comes with a game, too
most of the time, you also get a second game, second Controller, or PS+ subscription, too

there were even more trade in deals for ps4 than xb1

the only Thing they have not done yet is a pricecut.
but it will happen, soon. right now it's not that necessary,

Are we going to get these threads every year?

The PS5 Exists.

they could be aggressive in game lineup. but their priority is to have the cash they need to earn a good profit, which i think they are getting at. those years with tough loses on revenue, so as a company it is better to get the best revenue since the competition is weak.
it is not Sony's fault that MS and Nintendo couldn't come up with a good console this year, i mean good enough to get the major gamers own an X1 and WiiU system.
