Forums - Gaming - Why isn't Sony being more aggressive in America?

Imagine what would happen if they were more aggressive.
As you say, MS is doing all sorts of promotions, giving away freebies continuously, and they are still losing.
Obviously Sony can sell consoles on its own merits, as well as the quality of its many exclusives that are available year round, not only during the holidays.

Why have a price cut when units are flying off the shelves? Might as well just maximize profit margins.

Sony is marketing the PS4 as the system for CoD and Star Wars; they're being aggressive enough.

Because they don't give a shit about colored graphs on VGC.

Sadly.

The way the PS4 is selling, they don't have to.

Because 3rd party games rule the holiday season. Considering Sony has marketing rights to nearly every big 3rd party game, they're aggressive enough. Now, it's just a matter of time until they drop the price by $100 and sell Blops 3 and Battlefront bundles at $349.

Sony needs every dollar they can get. They have been bleeding money for years. It would be foolish to lower the price when they are already winning almost every month in sales with little signs of slowing down. Plus with the hype job they did at E3 they won't have to lower price for another year. Sony is doing the right thing.

They don't want to outright kill MS and have then jump start a new gen.

Give them a little leway and they will struggle all gen long.
