Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Rumor: Nintendo and Disney reached a deal for movies, games, etc, and Nintendo mobile games on the Amazon Appstore

Make the deal and secure Kingdom Hearts onrelease on the NX with exclusive Nintendo/video game themed content. And most of this you don't need a source to guess. Of course Disney has talked with the owner of some of the most iconic characters in the fastest growing entertainment industry in the world.

This is BS because of the Amazon app store. Nintendo would never shun ios.

If true then Nintendo wins. Not a console war, but a war against obscurity. It was one of their biggest fights over the past 5 years. A deal with Disney would be one of the biggest deals almost anyone could make. I hope its true. That, along with the Universal Studios deal and NX? Nintendo would be relevant again.

This sounds awesome. Its what I always wanted Nintendo to do. They have some of the most recognizable characters in the world, and they should diversify away from gaming. Nintendo should go all out with this partnership and together they should make movies, TV shows, lots of mobile games, all sorts of toys, and theme park rides.

A Cranky Kong X Scrooge McDuck game needs to happen.

The Wreck it Ralph line is questionable; I thought I once read somewhere that Nintendo actually offered Mario to be used, but the creators of the movie couldn't really find a way to include him in the movie while doing justice to Mario's legacy, so they put him on aside for a sequel. So that's pretty much the opposite of what's said here.

I've always thought Disney and Nintendo would go well together, I'd like to see some of this rumour happen. The Mario x Mickey game needs to happen. Throw Darth Vader in there and you'd have the three most recognizable pop-culture figures ever in the same game!

Pretty sure it was the opposite.

Disney asked for Mario in Wreck It Ralph, Nintendo said "no, but here we'll let you use Bowser" and they were very strict on how Bowser could be used.

Truth be told Nintendo doesn't need a Mario x Mickey game. That's not going to bring them any extra consumers. Now if Disney wants to offer things like exclusive Star Wars or Avengers games ... hey ... lets talk.

Mario and Mickey in a game together could be pretty awesome. I think a Kingdom Hearts type of game could be a great route to go on that. Sort of an RPG that melds the Disney and Nintendo universes instead of just another platformer.

Yeah, it's probably fake, but it would be a good step and partnership for Nintendo.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

Are you sure about that? 20 years ago, or even 5-10 years ago, I would've agreed, but with each passing year, Nintendo loses more and more of its relevancy with kids ages 5 to 12. Not that it's a huge demographic for sales, but adding Disney clout to Nintendo franchises (like Mario) could bring in the newest generation of kids who are being raised on XBO and PS4. It might help make Nintendo "cool" again. Or maybe not, idk.

Spanish outlet Revogamers has put up a pair of new rumors about Nintendo. We’re generally wary about posting speculation, but the site did publish accurate reports last year about amiibo and Nintendo characters joining Skylanders.

In any case, here’s what Revogamers passed along:

Nintendo & Disney negotiate a big deal: films, videogames and interactive toys and merchansing

– amiibo are not included in Disney Infinity 3.0 because both companies have yet to set an agreement
– Disney wanted to have a Mario figure in Infinity, but Nintendo refused to lend their most important character
– This is not a dead end in the negotiation
– Both companies have been in conversations for years, as Disney has asked Nintendo many times to have Mario in films and other media
– Under new Nintendo rules (licensing characters) options for Disney are widened: they are talking about Mario starring in films, probably something related to Wreck it Ralph
– Disney is after Nintendo to have a game with Mario and Mickey together
– Nintendo is open to it but wants to set their own pace for it

Nintendo mobile games on Amazon Appstore

– Nintendo will offer their mobile games through Amazon Appstore
– The American company was the one approaching their Japanese partner for the deal
– In response, Nintendo asked Amazon about Amazon TV games
– It is not clear what is this for, but people at Amazon think that there is something related to Android in Nintendo’s future
– Nintendo is moving some of their data out of Amazon Cloud Servers, probably to DeNA ones

What are your thoughts, the Disney one sounds awesome

So, King Mickey from Kingdom Hearts as a new DLC character for Smash Bros.?
I'd definitely love to see that!
