Morpheus had an official game announcement on E3 and Insomniac is working on a game for Oculus, that future is coming close fast perhaps even next year already

Morpheus and Oculus are as much VR as those head set games you can play at Chuck-E-Cheese.

That. It's litteraly smaller screens closer to your eyes with a gyroscope.

No cutting edge technology here.

If we're on the theme of oversimplifying... The universe is just planets floating around with gravitational pull... nothing amazing there. Yawn.

Please tell me how different the technology is from my statement if you're going to say i'm oversimplifying. I'm all ears. Nothing I've heard so far suggested me it was different but I might have missed some important piece of information

And how many of those have you lying around in your attic?
Consoles were just ugly boxes connected to a tiny tv screen, nothing cutting edge compared to the arcades.
VHS was crap quality compared to the cinema, why would anyone ever want that.

The director of Nintendo America (Reggie) has stated that Virtual reality isn't any fun and antisocial and purely technical stuff, I personally think his body isn't ready yet. We all know Nintendo is amazing at making bad hardware/business decissions, so does this mean Virtual Reality will be a huge succes. Because if Nintendo says something isn't big like Third party support, HD gaming, graphics, DVD/Blu ray placback, online multiplayer it usally is :p.

Taking each of the list of things that Nintendo apparently said wasn't big in order:

1) When did Nintendo ever say third party support wasn't important

2) Yep, they got that wrong.

3) Graphics - except for the fact that PS2 and Wii won their respective generations so oops.

4) Do you have any proof that DVD/Blu-ray playback is massively important. Wii didn't think so.

5) I don't recall Nintendo ever saying that online multiplayer wasn't big or important.

So basically, yes, I'm feeding the troll.

You're oversimplifying the experience.

The way you've described it, pretty accurately describes what the device is, but it really undersells how the device performs.

It's not about the experience, but about the technology leap. It's still screen, gyroscope and earphones.

It somehow doesn't feel like a leap in technology we expected for VR. And 5 senses simulation will eventually come, but now it's like the first smartphones or the first computers : It's there, it's a new experience, but it's not yet the technological revolution that will eventually happen.

Considering it took years of R&D to make and even work properly and the fact that before the VR explosion there was nothing like it on the market anywhere. I'd say it's pretty damn cutting edge tech. If it's so simple why don't you just make one yourself in your basement?

Also I can't believe you said it's "not about the experience", in gaming it's ALL, 100% about the experience. Always. All the time.

That's like saying, Kinect has games, so motion controls have future.

A bit early don't you think.

Does microsoft have 20-30 games in development for Kinect right now?

I'm just saying, wait a year or two and then we'll definatly know it's a succes or not.

A lot of things take years of R&D but aren't revolutions anyway. The current homeconsole generation is the perfect example of this.

Eyetoy was a great experience look how far it went. Current VR is an eyeTOY. I'm waiting for the kinect.

The Wii defenitly didn´t try to do serious online multiplayer, now did it. The PS3 sold quite a few units early thanks to their blu ray player ad it made a more appealing system it helped PS2 with dvd playback too.

Even though the PS2 was weak games as God of War 2 is one of the best looking 6th gen games, as for the Wii U which is supposed to be more powerful I am still waiting for that game which tops God of War 2. The Wii was the Wii but where the PS2 could have a long lifespan due to having enough power to get third parties and compete with the competition Wii was almost dried out within 4 years.

Perhaps Nintendo doesn´t say out loud that third parties can go **** themselves but they surely don't make their system apealing since Wii.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
