2017 would be awesome but with them not even being done with FFXV after all these years and then barely starting on KH3, that seems awfully early

Not really if they have the help from Sony

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

Maybe late 2017/early 18? Seeing how SE likes to achieve perfection in there games, I don't think we'll see this for awhile. They still need to finish 15 and KH3.

A 20th anniversary release date isn't out the question. Furthermore, we should get some more perks! Maybe fuse the materia and grid system? That could work!

To quote a famous philosopher: "Square Enix likes announcing games more than making games."

I won't get my hopes up when even SE says that the game just begun development and that we shouldn't expect it soon.

To be honest the remake should be alot faster than an original game for obvious reasons.

For one, FF XV is an open world game. FF VII is a location based game with an overworld. The turn based battle system is already there (they better not fuck with it too much). The plot is there, yes they are going to add some stuff and change a few things, but its all there.

The dev cycle could be fairly quick if they go with pre-rendered backgrounds in order to maintain the feel of the original (which I honestly hope they do). If this game takes rediculously long to make its not FF VII anymore, its a game based on FF VII...

psn- tokila

They didn't say that. They said development had already started when they announced the PC port was coming to PS4, during the PSX event last year.

Which in SE-time is the definition of "just" :P

I will direct you to Kingdom Hearts 3's latest trailer for a game that has also just started being made... ^_-
