They showed ingame, gameplay for Kingdom Hearts 3.

The game looked polished judgeing on what was shown... why it need 5 more years?

I think its more likely it ends up something like:

2016 Final Fantasy XV + Kingdom Hearts 3 (late 2016)

2017 Final Fantasy VIIR

I wouldn't be surprised to see it release in Holiday 2017.

2017 would be awesome but with them not even being done with FFXV after all these years and then barely starting on KH3, that seems awfully early

If it isn't released on the game's 20th anniversary then there is something wrong with the world.

Maybe, but judging from the Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer this year, it seems like development is progressing much more fluidly this gen.

2017?! We'll be lucky if we see KH3 in 2017. It's Square Enix we are talking about and that game is huge.

To be fair, Nomura and co were asked to leave Versus XIII/FF XV production to go work on FF VII sometime along the way. So obviously, the change of director further pushed the release away.

But since the game switched to the FF XV title, progress have been quite steady in comparison to when it was a PS3 title. ^_-
